Mr.TKE made me a card outta MY card making supplies (he's broke). I'm making him dinner and dessert. I've also bought 1 love card (tennis induced), and hand-made 5 other cards for a scavenger hunt. YAY for chicken-n-rice casserole and s'more brownies :)
We celebrated Valentines early, to avoid crowds.
We went to the Melting Pot for the first time which was so nice!
FI is surprising me! I'm excited to see what he has planned. I know we are staying home so I am guessing that he is making dinner and candles/romance is involved!
@Ugoob: I love the melting pot! I was only there once, but it was totally delicious :) ...and good idea!
Probably nothing tonight. The weekend was very busy.
My family was in town and our engagement party was yesterday.
I have a few gifts for him but his gifts for me are delayed. It's also our 7 year dating anniversary, so a quiet dinner at home (just the two of us) sounds perfect after this crazy weekend.
I'm hoping for flowers, but will not be disappointed if I don't get any, since FMIL gave us tulips to bring home from the party yesterday.
Also hit snooze one extra time this morning so we could have a little more morning cuddle time.
I made breakfast, he mentioned lunch plans (but maybe that was to throw me off because he hasn't said anything official)(we usually do lunch together so if you are thinking this is all overkill, this is normal for us) but tonight our plans include Chicken Alfredo, Jeopardy! and Mudslide cookies. I DIY'd his gift this weekend.
We went to dinner last night at Maggiano's...so good!
We're doing a smaller dinner tonight and the movies (which is a treat because he HATES going to the movies).
I just got flowers! FI was faking me out all week, saying flowers were a complete waste of money
He had planned a dinner at a surprise restaurant for me! But yesterday he came down with a terrible virus and is home sick from work today :(
So I will be spending V-day going to the gym, eating leftovers, and cuddling with him on the couch. Oh well! I'm just happy I get to be with him :)
we're doing dinner tomorrow instead of tonight, and i got a card and small gift this morning :) we're having his best friend who just broke off his engagement and is devastated over for dinner tonight, so we prob won't mention v-day at all again til tomorrow...
We went out to dinner last night because I have class from 7-9 tonight. He gave me a card, flowers, chocolates, and a lovely bracelet. I made him a card and bought him moccasins.
Well were gonna be away from each other due to school, but I did see him over the weekend and we went dancing (even though he doesnt really like to). Then next weekend hopefully I`ll be able to see him again to exchange gifts and such. Oh and this morning he sent me this cute song <3 :

Sigh. I dunno. I bought my hunny a gift and card a few weeks back and he'd BETTER have a card for me if he knows what's good for him. ;) He's also baking me a valentines cake (that was more of a gift for HIM. He's on forced baking hiatus until the wedding and is always looking for a loophole.)
We have loose plans to go to dinner tonight, but we'll likely be all lazy and stay in, because that is our way. It's the workweek so knockin' boots is probably out (I don't know exactly when we stopped having sex during the week, but it's definitely become a pattern.) For now I'm just avoiding working while at work since I'm all PMSy and work is making me stabby.
At least I'm wearing red today so I'm festive, dammit.
We did our Valentine's celebration yesterday. Sea bass, crab legs, clams, and shrimp feast! It was delish. We cooked at home and just spent all afternoon together. Cards were exchanged (we even got cards from our dogs and cat!) and I received 4 orange gerbera daisies which was the color of my flowers in the wedding and the gerbera was in my bm's bouquets. And 4 flowers to represent, our cat, two dogs and one adorable husband.
We had our V-day celebrations over the weekend. A night in Banff, nice dinner, movie, drinks with my sister and her bf. Tonight my sister, her bf, my FI and I are spending the evening with my mom - dinner and some gifts :) She's alone, and since we already all celebrated, we didn't need to spend tonight alone too. I just got my mom a couple bunches of flowers, and I'm going to buy some chocolates tonight before dinner.
Nada with FI. He's working late. I am taking my darling daughter out for a special little date though after school.
@stephinPA: Wow you cooked all that seafood!? That must have been awesome. Very romantic :)
Yesterday we went up for a drive on some ORV trails in the snow, and dinner at a nice spot in town. Today FI has to work out of town but should get in later...we'll probably have some dinner at home and watch TV. The Westminster dog show is on tonite!
None of the above. We actually wont see eachother all day because of work and class so we had our Valentines last night. I made him lunch, went to dinner, and then went straight to bed because he had to be up at the crack of dawn. But tonight we are giving eachother our cards and I might surprise him with something little.
@SoontobeMrsA: here here! I hope so, too. ;)
He's taking me to dinner tonight, but I don't know where. He always surprises me! I'm hoping it is Bonefish. We LOVE that restaurant and have some of our best memories there from our first few weeks/months dating. :) I'm sure I'll get flowers, too, as he always gets me flowers on V-Day. Can't wait.
@SoontobeMrsA: Awww that's adorable! What a great mommy you are!!!
DH bought me croissants on Saturday so I saved one for this morning for breakfast with the Chai Latte he brought me (after I said, "While you're putting out the garbage, why don't you pop out and grab me a Valentine's day Chai Latte and score major points" which he did after he pointed out they were half price between 2-5 this afternoon, there's my frugal husband!). Tonight we're having dinner brought in from our wedding caterer/chef. He does a Valentine's Day delivery menu every year that's awesome! Then we'll probably be full and exhausted, so we'll put on our PJs, watch the Bachelor, and maybe we'll get around to knocking boots, but we'll see... LOL!
We celebrated yesterday for the most part. We went to brunch, came home and listened to records on our patio with mimosas. And then I suprised him with my "at home spa" room. I used our guest room and blacked out the window, had candles and relaxing music. And used home-made recepies for a facial, body scrub, and hand treatment. He LOVED it!
This morning he surprised me with breakfast in bed before work :)
OP, could you add an option to the poll of "Not a darn thing!"? I'm pretending that Valentine's Day isn't happening this year. FH has been gone for work for two weeks and is getting back this afternoon. I'm a nursing student in the last semester of my senior year. I have a pediatrics test tomorrow, a care plan due by 12:00 tonight and a concept map also due tomorrow. I was going to get to see FH for a few hours this afternoon but since his flight has been delayed, I won't see him till I get home from class tonight. He usually gets a comp day when he gets home from a trip but I have a tutoring session tomorrow morning at 9:00 am so I won't have time then either. I haven't gotten him anything and I'm not expecting anything from him either. Sorry to be such a downer but I am really not feeling the romance right now.
We exchanged cards this morning, plus a little post-shower action before getting dressed. He has class tonight and I won't be home from my second job until after 9PM so no dinner. I made him dinner both nights this weekend and I made crepes on Sunday morning. We're saving for a house so we don't want to waste money on presents.
How sweet!
I opened my workstation this morning (I work from home) to find the card he'd written me. And we were going to go on a picnic but it's raining so we're still going on a picnic, it's just going to be by our fireplace! I'm very excited :-)
Today is our anniversary so we don't celebrate valentines day. We're not doing anything this year though. We did dinner and a movie to celebrate (kind of) Saturday, and we bought each other cards. Tonight I'll probably just make something or we'll get take-out and we'll watch movies together :) We're at t-12 days to wedding so we're feeling rather low key and broke haha.
I am going BM dress shopping with my girls tonight!!!!
It's our anniversary today too, but my birthday this weekend, with wedding savings, I just said ignore today, celebrate on the weekend!
Waiting for my MIL to leave! What person in their right mind visits newlyweds on Valentines Day Weekend!
@CorgiTales:It's your anniversary too? Very cool.
Happy anniversary!
My little girl is so into V-day. She gave me a plant (pink hyacinth), a candle (she always gives me candles lol), and a little scrapbook she made of the two of us.
I eek lost her present! I will be spending the afternoon trying to find it. It's a cute little VW bug dressed up for V-day. Annabelle loves VW bugs.
We went to a fabulous brunch yesterday at an area hotel (hello hangover at 4pm!). Tonight I’ll be making us a delicious dinner that will consist of porterhouse steaks, mushroom risotto, prosciutto and phyllo wrapped asparagus and dinner rolls. For desert we got a Pepperidge Farm fudge cake!
I already gave him his gifts yesterday (I’m terrible at keeping secrets). He got a card, a new pair of sneakers (that he desperately needed), Coldstone Creamery chocolates and a bag of peanut butter m&ms.
He’s gifting me with a shopping spree. It would be slightly more exciting if our finances weren’t combined but I haven’t really done any ME shopping in a while since we’re saving for our wedding so I’m still excited. He’s also going shopping with me which is my real gift since that like never happens.
Nothing, I have to work tonight and by the time I get home, he will be asleep because he wakes up at 4:30 for work every morning.
I think my mom got me something for v-day though, she always does
We're doing a dinner consisting of lunch meat sandwiches (we may get fancy and order a pizza), and I made FI a card. I told him I wanted him to write me a card (even a letter on notebook paper would do it!), but I have a sneaky feeling he forgot. That's okay, though, we'll still have fun!
haha ladies! You all are awesome...Mr.TKE is sleeping so (it's 1230) so I've been hiding all his cards for the scavenger hunt...I can't believe he's still sleeping...We went to bed around 130 this morning...this is getting ridiculous! lol :)
