Do you have a mirena or copper IUD?

If you have a mirena, it’s likely the hormones in it would have provided you extra protection from pregnancy, as it prevents you from ovulating.

Hope you get in to see your doctor soon, and have things fixed up *hugs*

I think you should be ok with the copper one even if it’s a little out of place – the copper one leaches copper ions into your uterus and that’s what makes it a hostile environment for egg implantation. Even if you do have a fertilized egg it’s not likely to attach to your uterine wall.

waitingforthering2:  Ah… as FutureDrAtkins mentioned, the copper also provides extra protection. It would be less so in a newer IUD.

I hope everything is ok. At least the IUD is still in there, that means you are getting some protection. Hoping you get the answer you want!
