Some of you may remember me as I have posted on here with questions in the past. I am posting for my daughter – she knows I am posting so this is nothing I am doing behind her back. We are both searchng for as much information and help as we can get. I love how supportive you all are of each other – I love reading the threads – you are so sweet and caring – what a great support system! Love it…. ok here goes…
My daughter, 27, ttc since her wedding day 9-1-12. Has always had irregular periods from 30-90 days – never regular. So she kind of had prepared herself for issues. My mother had problems conceiving and it took me to years to conceive with my daughter – so it obviously runs in the family. She has had all the blood tests – no problems with thyroids, etc. SHe has had the ultrasound/xray of her tubes – no blockage. She has had the xray of her uterus – a little deviated – but MD says it is not an issue. she tried 4 months of clomid and never received a positivie ovulation. After about 10 months and other medication she began being regular in July of this year. We were so confident it was finally going to happen – nope. They changed her medication and started doing the follicular ultrasounds – first time – 3 follicles measuring over 22 – tech said it was great news but was surprised that MD refused to do “trigger shot”….come to find out MD does not do injections. After hearing that the MD felt like there was nothing more he could do – she was seen at the Infertility clinic on the 20th of October. MD spent two hours going over everything and besides her not being regular found no reason she should not be able to conceive. He increased her fertility meds and gave her a prescription for an injection to be taken after the next ultrasound. Ultrasound is scheduled for the 14th (next Thursday) and we assume the IUI will be scheduled shortly after that test. Our question is – has anyone had luck with the first try on IUI? Everything we have read – it seems NO ONE conceives the first time. Luckily it isnt super expensive only $700 an attempt.
Any info you can give us on what to expect next week would be great! Please add her to your prayer list – she will make an amazing mother as I am sure you all will as well.
