So I’ve been working on some craft projects and I want to get some opinions!!! You know I’m a budget bride (say it loud and proud!!!) so I almost feel like DIY when you’re on a budget is almost a rite of passage!!
Anyway, the 1st thing I’m working on is the flower situation… So I don’t want to spend a lot on flowers but I love flowers… I will be doing super small flower arrangements (with a lot of cylinder vases and candles) but I wanted more flowers…So after being on weddingbee and trolling around I thought maybe I’d try my hand at some paper flowers… I want to make some paper flowers to go on top of our favor boxes…So some of my friends and I had some crafting lunch hours… Anyway here are some of my attempts…
So what do you guys think!!! I’m still playing with the size color and style but they were fun…Am I on the right track? What do you think about supplementing real flowers with paper flowers??

OMG, those are gorgeous! What did you make them from? And how did you do the ones in the 2nd pic?

Love your flowers and how BIG they are!!! I’ve been working on a ton of paper flowers myself – it’s a great budget savings, but definitely hard work!
Do you have a tutorial for the one on the top left? I would LOVE to give it a try!
Here are my latest two projects…giant bleached flowers and roses:

Yours are gorgeous, I voted “no,” though–to much work for me, and I love the smell of flowers.
I do love yours. I am too lazy to put that much work into them, though.

@AdrienB: I love the ones in your first pic, I bought my flowers at our local dollar tree.

I think if you’re enjoying the crafting, you should have it be part of your decor for sure. People will be impressed with your skillz. The most memorable wedding things to me are the things made by the bride/family/etc. The story behind it makes me smile and it’s a beautiful thing to include on your day if that’s your thing.

Hey Ya’ll Thanks so much, I’m glad you like them…It’s funny because I used pretty much the same technique for all the flowers…They are made from tissue paper (like the kind you stuff on top of the gift when you use gift bags)
@renatastone & @woodwindwaker here is pretty much the tutorial I used… I just modified for the second flower by cutting the ends like this “<>” instead of like this “()”
Here is where I think I got it from…
(just copy and paste this address…I’m not complely tech savy but I’m trying!l)
Oh and @renatastone I love your flowers… I saw some others on another post. they are beautiful!!
@ellabee i love the smell of flowers too!! I wish we could have more but 🙁 it isn’t in the budget… I am going to have 3 small flower arrangements (roses) with rose petals on the tables so hopefully I’ll still be able to get that flower smell and the paper flowers would just be something to create additional visual interest 🙂
@CruiseWedding2010 I was looking into getting some flowers similar to that but then I was having fun making the paper flowers and so I figured it would be fun to add another DIY project…I might be a bit crazy but I have till august so I think I can do it…

The white ones are very nice, they look super soft and organic.
I am not a fan of the brightly colored ones, they look very artificial.
Good idea, needs some refinement though. Keep on working on it, youre on the right track.

I like the white ones in the vase the best.
I don’t have time to do all that. Plus, I’m a perfectionist and it would take me FOREVER!
