So unlike in the good ole days, I guess it’s not so common anymore for couples to have a “song”, per se. My FI and I have a lot of songs that remind us of things and moments, songs we like, etc. but we’re open to anything for our first dance.
We’re both huge country fans and love this song, and it always reminds me of our trips to upstate NY, Vermont or anyplace of natural beauty. We love to completely relax when we go away and enjoy simpler things.
It just came on my pandora after not hearing it for ages, and I just started to cry! I had the same reaction when I tried on my wedding gown, so it must be good for something!
So ladies, what’s it gonna be?

Our song is by Arctic Monkeys “Baby I’m Yours”. We are both huge fans of the Arctic Monkeys and the song is so beautiful. It has a very old time feel to it as well. And it’s only like two mins long, which is great because I really don’t want to have all eyes on me while I awkwardly sway for five mins lol.

@BurlapnLace: FI and I have a few different songs for the same reasons you guys do. Songs that make us think of a moment, or of each other…we’re actually going to be incorporating them all into the wedding. I will be walking down the aisle to one(the very first song FI ever deducated to me), one will be the song playing after we’ve been pronounced husband and wife, one when we’re introduced to the reception and one for the first dance. The funny thing is I never listened to country music before FI…but all of the songs are country! (Including father/daughet and mother/son! LOL)

- Wedding: May 2015 - The Runnymede Hotel
We have loads of songs we love too, music is a huge part of our relationship and we’re basically hoping to have music playing non stop all day.
Our first dance song was the hardest thing to choose, I had a million ideas, from Johnny Cash to David Bowie. We eventualy settled on:
Processional: Daniel Johnston – True Love will Find You in the End
– Very sweet, a little bit quirky and very us – plus I believe it wholeheartedly.
Recessional: James Brown – I Feel Good
– Time to party! We wanted something super upbeat and a bit unexpected.
First Dance: Slade – Darlin’ Be Home Soon
– We love the lovin’ spoonful, and this is a gorgeous cover of a John Sebastien song.
Eek, the music is the part I’m most excited about!
