I have found my wedding dress!! It’s so perfect, totally different to what I was looking for (I’ll get to that in a minute) and I cannot wait to wear it!!!
Apologies in advance for the length of my post haha.
I’m coming to the end of a two week holiday in the UK (had to come over to help my dad out with something) and while I was here I thought I’d dress shop a little. I actually wasn’t planning on buying anything. Anyway, my best friend (MOH) and I were looking around, and I was trying on strapless dresses. I did like a few, but none of them felt like the one. Then, I booked an appointment at a bridal salon which my MOH couldn’t attend, so I took my great aunt instead. I chose a few dresses to try, so did she, and two of her picks weren’t strapless. However, she asked me to humour her, so I did. The first non-strapless was not me at all, and I honestly didn’t have high hopes for the other. However, when I put it on, everything changed. I fell in love. I felt so good in it, I didn’t want to take it off. I was confused though, since it was different from what I’ve wanted so far. The salon let me take pictures, so my aunt snapped a few shots on my phone, and I booked another appointment for today so my MOH could come with me to see it. Meanwhile, I was telling various family members about the dress, and showing them pictures if they wanted to see.
The more I looked at the pictures, the more I loved the dress. The original price was £900 and the dress was a sample sale, down to £450. Still, it was out of my current budget. Then, a few mornings ago, I woke up to a phone call from an aunt of mine (different aunt to the one who came with me to the appointment) saying that she was on her way over with a loan of £450 for me to go and buy the dress. I was so shocked. After she dropped it off I counted it out, and realised we were £50 short, she had given me £400. By now, she was on a plane to Ireland, so there was no way to let her know.
I waited until the appointment today with the intention of going in with the £400 to see if they would accept that. (Just a little bit of background, because the dress was a sample it had to be bought outright, no deposits or payment plans etc). So we (MOH and I) went today, and I asked if £400 was acceptable, and they agreed it was!!! I was so over the moon!!!! So, without further ado, here is my beauty!!!! What do you bees think?
