I’ve gained weight since getting engaged. I hate it. I am starting HCG on December 30th- so I am hoping that will help get rid of some of this weight I have packed on. Anyone else gain weight since getting engaged?

I gained about twenty pounds, but I was rail-thin before so I think it was a good change, as much as I hated it at first. Mine was mostly due to my effed-up thyroid and an unexpected switch in the type of BC I was on when I lost my health insurance, though. Still a downer.

Sorry to hear! I know that wedding planning can be stressful, which resulted in increased food intake for myself. Once the holidays pass, just be cautious about the amounts of food you take in, cut down on fast food, and try to get some exercise in. Also, make small and reasonable goals for yourself that you can attain. I don’t know a whole lot about HCG, except that my girlfriend and her hubby did it, and they lost a lot of weight fast. I just think you need to be cautious with any forms of drugs/herbs/etc. Best of Luck!! You can do it!!

I gained some weight when I moved in with my FI. It’s stabilized now, but it would be nice to be a bit thinner.
Having said that, in double-blinded, placebo-controlled trials, HCG has been shown NOT to be effective as a weight loss tool. There was a discussion about this a while ago (see here), and on the second page I listed some of the abstracts for clinical research that was completed by independent researchers. Please reconsider using this product, and if you do decide to use it, consider with a physician that specializes in weight loss. Changing diet and increasing exercise is really the best way to lose weight (although it is certainly difficult).
