I’m at 31 weeks, and I’ve gained about 20 pounds.  If you’re eating reasonably healthy foods most of the time, I wouldn’t worry too much about it.  I gained 40 pounds with my daughter, and I looked like I was all belly.  I’m hoping to keep it to 35 this time around, but I’m not too worried.

first off you are FINE! it is healthy to gain 25-35lbs if you are normal weight and more if you are under weight. If you were overweight to start with then you may need to try to pace yourself but for now i think you are fine.

I am 28 and a half weeks and i have gained 36lbs! my doctor is not concenred though so long as the rest of my gain is baby only. i added weights, yoga and daily walks to my roster as well as avoiding drinking excess of juice (which may have been my culprit). I gained a bit too much in the first trimester.

I also know many who gained 60-80 lbs and got it off fine. it’s not the best and you should try not to but you also shouldnt lose your mind over it if you do. Kate hudson gained 80 with her first son and eventually got it off. Just try to pace yourself, exercise more and make healthier choices but DO NOT DIET!

 I feel like my “Love handles” are taking over, yet my belly isn’t THAT big.

that sums up how i feel at almost 20 weeks!  my butt is getting too big for my liking as well. i have jogging shorts that i feel like are just shrinking!  🙁   but last time i weighed myself (last saturday), i had only gained 6.3 pounds so far (net gain, i lost 3.5 in the beginning, so really i gained that back plus the 6.3).

I’ve only gained about 10 pounds or so since getting pregnant. I lost 6 at the first trimester, so I started off a little lighter than before. I go tomorrow, so we’ll see how much I weigh then. With the way that I was eating at 28 weeks, I was convinced that I gained 10 lbs, but I gained more like 5 in that time period. I have a feeling that it’s all going to come on in the next 10 weeks.

Well my midwife told me that from about 28 weeks on I should aim to gain about a pound a week, which would still keep you on track for a very normal weight gain of 25-35lbs. I agree with bunny and audrey, eat healthy, try to avoid juice (or at least cut them with water…so much sugar), and stay active.

I’ve gained 18 – 19 pounds and I’m 26 weeks. My doctor said my weight is good so I’m not worried about it. Plus people tell me I look very good and am all belly. Don’t worry so long as you’re eating healthy and staying active

I didn’t gain in the 1st tri but only 2lbs.  then in 4 weeks I gained 7lbs and the doctor wasn’t happy but not preachy about it.  I reminded her that I hadn’t gained much until those 4 weeks.  Since that appointment last week I haven’t gained anything and according to my scale I’ve lost 2lbs.  I’ve always been a person who fluctuates from week to week by 5lbs or so.  So I’m not concerned because I’m at 17 weeks and if I do the normal 1/2-1lb each week I should be in the normal range.

My boobs have been the most weight gain and I’m getting stretch marks on them.  I’m not happy about this at all!

@MarryMeTiffany:  Don’t feel bad! I’m at exactly the same as you and I’ve kept a healthy diet. Our babies are healthy and that’s what matters!

@MarryMeTiffany:  i can’t stop eating either. like all the time. alot. though i also exercise quite a bit still. i wonder if as the exercise gets harder, the weight gain will go faster….plus i think how we feel is not related to how many pounds we gain. i feel fat when each piece of clothing i once wore is just too tight in certain areas.  and it really sux with summer coming up as i usually work harder in the summer to keep my weight down…..i will have adjusting to do this summer that’s for sure!

@Running Elley:

@dynamic_duo:

Thanks ladies. My eating as of lately hasn’t been to bad I’ve kept it pretty healthy but I still do have my bad eating days. I have hypoglycemia now so I have to constantly be eating something. Also my protien is really low and my doc is making me eat protien bars that are packed with calories. I just cannot wait to be able to exercise hard again and get my body back. I do love my bump though just not my legs, arms, chubby cheeks, etc. lol

Last time I weighed myself in pregnancy was at 39 weeks weighing 49lbs up from my prepreg weight and I went to 41+4 so who knows what I REALLY got to.

I’ve lost just about all of it, but it’s definitely not wanting to fall off of my “love handles” area…. hopefully a few more months of ebf’ing & my no dairy/soy diet will help!

In the end, as long as your vitals and baby’s vitals are looking good I wouldn’t worry too much about it. =)

Sounds like your on track and that you will fall into a healthy range…once you get to 3rd tri you should gain 1lb/week!
