I just want to say I am sorry I know nothing about this stuff.  Just.. hugs & is it possible to get a second opinion from an actual real estate lawyer?

@inhotwater:  Your name is on the property and he is living in it correct… why can you not go to the bank and take your name off the property? Or bring him to court to force the court to take you name off?

@inhotwater:  I’m curious as to why he suggested bankruptcy.. Would the bank accept a deed in lieu of foreclosure? Or will your ex not sign that?

@inhotwater:  He has up to this point refused to short sell

There’s no way to force him?  Or give him some incentive to agree?

@inhotwater:  God, this sucks so bad. I work in the industry and you’re correct: getting a name off of title isn’t as simple as a request. Not even close.

Make sure you tell your SO what’s going on ASAP.

@inhotwater:  I mean, I’m no expect on when these go south legally, but I know a lot of times to get someone off of title people refinance. Is it in both of your names?

@inhotwater:  What a jackass. I have no idea why someone would ruin their finances and credit just to spite a woman.
