I have been TTC for 3 years. Initially unexplained but as of March, diagnosed with DOR. We did 5 IUIs before moving onto IVF

I did a short protocol in April. I was on Menopur 150mg and Puregon 300mg then added in Oraglutron to prevent me from ovulating early.

I went every other day for bloodwork and ultrasound.

On the 9th day I triggered and had my ER on the 11th day of the cycle. Only retrieved 4 eggs, 2 of which fertilized. We did a 3 day transfer of our 2 embryos. Unfortunately the cycle was unsuccessfeul. We may do another IVF cycle in August with different meds (Gonal-F) in hopes of getting more eggs.

I didn’t have any negative side effects from the meds. I was actually more calm during the IVF cycle, the monitoring and meds helped me feel like I was doing everything possible and it was “out of my hands” The negative result however was really difficult to take.

I made sure to dring lots of Gatorade/water and weigh myself daily to prevent/monitor for OHSS.

I read a lot about diets high in avacados and dark leafy greens, cutting out cold beverages, keeping feet warm, accupuncture, etc but I am on the fence about them.

Good luck!

Oh, forgot to mention I was on Endometrin (Progesterone supps) 3 times a day following ER until the negative Beta. I HATED the Endometrin! The leakage from it was like a bird shit in my pants!

I had a migraine for a few days after the ER, not sure if the progesterone was to blame?

You might find it helpful to read through the 1 year + TTC threads on this board (there have been several of them).  There are a lot of ladies there who have done IVF and give the details about their experiences.

Resolve also has great information, resources, and a support board with a lot of people who have done IVF.

AnonTTC:  Hi there, sorry to read about the IVF not turning succesful. I just started my first round of IVF.

TTcing for 3 years almost.

one failed IUI.

I have PCOs, DH as low sperm count so we moved on to IVF.

Currently, it’s my 4th day with two injections of Gonal F injections. I wish I had known that the needle would be alot thicker than the regular injections! lol. I feel really sick and nauseaus most of the times. My appetite has really died down. Plus I’m also on some medicines because my prolactin level is really high and the clinic wanted me to lower it down as well.

Right now, I’m just in a state of numbness – I really don’t know what to think. I’m going for my first TVS tomorrow – kind of nervous…I’ve read so many stories about women not doing well during the injections and not getting as many viable eggs as needed…it just seems a long way to go to having those embryos implanted!

I wish there IVF really picked up on giving better chances of pregnancy as it does now…
