My wedding dress is ivory so now I am unsure what to have the groomsmen wear. It is definitely a noticeable ivory unlike some of the ones that are still very similar to a white. I know I want them in grey but we had originally planned for just grey dresspants with white dress shirts. I am now wondering if it would look better to have them in a full tux or suit since the white shirts may not compliment my gown. If anyone had any pictures where the groomsmen wore white and the bride is in ivory please share!

AmberArch: There are dozens of old threads where the bride wore an ivory dress and the groom and groomsmen wore white shirts.
No matter what the salesman at Men’s Wearhouse say, white shirts will not make your dress look dingy, but ivory shirts can look dingy with grey pants.

Jules is right. Have the men be in white shirts. I wore an ivory dress and it did not look “dingy” at all next to my husband’s white shirt 🙂
Ivory shirts and grey suits aren’t as nice as white on grey. To me anyway. And my friends were just in a wedding where ivory shirts and grey suits were requested and there was some trash talk amongst some of the male fashionistas. *I* didn’t care as much as they did. Silly but because of that I’d do white with a grey suit.
Trust me, the talk about how dingy your dress will look next to him is bull.

My FI is wearing a dark tweed grey suit and I have an ivory/champagne dress. However, our wedding is thi November, so grey tweed works for that time of year.

julies1949: do you think it will look okay without suit jackets though? most of the pictures I have seen in other threads all show white shirts which I agree looks fine but they are all wearing a jacket as well. My fear is the direct white shirt contact with the ivory dress.

AmberArch: Nothing looks better than a man in a white shirt. You aren’t going to be standing next to the groomsmen anyhow.

My dress was ivory and i had my groom in a white shirt with ivory vest and tie and the grooms men in white shirts with black vest and purple/red tie and black tux. i think it looked great and didn’t make my dress look dingy at all. Here are some pics
