My dress is ivory but the kind of ivory that looks white unless its held next to something pure white. This picture is very accurate in terms of the color.
The guys were just asked to get charcoal gray suitpants and vests on their own. I am buying their ties.
I don’t think it will be the worst thing in the world if they end up in white shirts – but I’d love to find shirts that match the dress color closely. The “ivory” shirts I’ve seen when looking are a lot more cream/yellowish than my dress, so if you found more white-ivory shirts, please let me know where!! 🙂

Of course I have to bring Randy Fenoli into this, but here an his excerpt from his book “It’s All About the Dress” where he chimes in on the “off-white shirt” debate:
“Unless you are wearing a colored shirt, and even if your bride is wearing an off-white gown – which it will most likely be if it is silk – you should always wear a white shirt, not ivory or off-white. An off-white shirt will look like it needs to be laundered. It should be clean, fresh and white.”
I think if anyone knows Men’s dress fashion, it would be Randy. I say stick with the white shirts. Plus, it won’t be right next to your dress, there will be a jacket in between.

My husband wore a white shirt with a charcoal grey suit. My dress was an almost white ivory and it looked great together!

@AdriannaJean: Thanks for this. I <3 Randy and he definitely knows fashion. Now I feel better about deciding to get white shirts for the guys. They will be in grey suits and I thought the ivory shirts just did not look right.

They had ivory shirts at the dress shop that DH and the groomsmen used, I think it’s pretty standard! Just make sure you look at them in person first, for instance the tux shirts in ivory were a light color, but some of the dress shirts for suits were VERY dark ivory, and I would have opted for white in that case.
