My dress was ivory (satin) and looked VERY white, actually.  Different company, though.

Ivory won’t look yellow! The only time you’d be able to see it’s darker color is if someone else is wearing bright white and standing near you.

My dress was true ivory and it is also by Allure:

This is my Davids Bridal Ivory Dress….    (Amy Horn Photography)

But I wouldn’t worry about it at all.  See Below:

Most men don’t realize that “ivory” is a pretty broad term… This can mean anything from “off white” or “natural white” (which can really only be noticed if it’s directly next to something that’s “true white) to “vintage ivory” (which tends to look more yellowed).

This was my ivory dress for my outdoor wedding:

And the same dress indoors:

Most women end up in an ivory dress because unless you’re a goddess/model who can look good in literally ANYTHING– true white doesn’t look that good on anyone!

Ivory is a much softer color and can blend with just about any skin tone; and again.

I’ve been a wedding coordinator for several years now and I can honestly say I’ve only seen 3-4 brides who honestly look good in a true white dress.

I definitely would not worry about it!  My dress was actually darker than ivory – it was Justin Alexander’s “natural” color.  It STILL looked very white in pictures (even compared to the white tent in our rain back up location).

I’ve tried an Allure dress in ivory and I honestly had to double and triple check the tag because it looked so darn white. Don’t worry!

Here’s my ivory dress. One picture is just me. The other one is outside and you can see the difference next to my husband’s pure white shirt. I don’t think it’s a big difference, and I definitely don’t think it’s noticeable unless you’re right next to something pure white.

I’m an allure bride, dress is made up of organza layers.  The sample dress was ivory and I was able to see the “yellow” in it so I ordered the white unseen.  I was SO nervous and hoped I made the right decision.  My dress came in last month and I am sooo happy I went with white.  When you saw your dress did you see yellow?  If not then you should be ok.  Different designer ivories vary … some look white and some look yellow.  Skin tone plays a major factor too.  Do you have a picture?

By the way … if you notice a lot of the brides that have posted pictures here, most of the grooms are wearing a white shirt with their tux.  You can see the color difference, it’s very noticeable in pictures.  If you are wearing an ivory dress make sure your hubby wears an ivory or diamond white shirt under his tux that way it doesn’t clash with your dress in pictures.
