I think he should match you - Ivory! On a side note, personally, I'd have the groomsmen wear ivory shirts too. I think it pulls everything together more and would look nicer if everything was ivory (as opposed to some ivory, some white). But either way you do it - I still think your groom's tie should be Ivory.
I'd say ivory because it matches you (which will be lovely!) and also as not to blend too much into the shirt. Also, I always like a hint of color, and though ivory isn't necessarily COLOR color, it gives more of a kick than just white. :-)
I've heard that if the bride's dress is ivory, the groom should wear ivory also, because if he wears white, when they are next to each other, her dress will look dingy. I don't know if that's true or not, but my dress is ivory and so is my FI's shirt/vest/tie. I'd go with ivory just to be safe!
I too had an ivory dress and we did a white shirt and ivory tie for my husband. When we saw the ivory shirts...well we just couldn't go with them. So the groomsman wore white shirts with colored ties, the groom had white shirt and ivory tie, and I had a ivory dress. And in my opinion it looked great!
I have an ivory dress, my fiance is wearing and ivory and gold tie and the groomsmen are wearing ivory shirts..I thought it just blended better that way
My Hubby wore a Charcoal suit and my dress was Ivory too. He ended up wearing a lighter heather gray tie and pocket sqaure it looked fab!!!
my dress is ivory/off white - and my FH is wearing ivory with ivory vest and tie - heres the comparison pictures - this might help! (also look at them for YOUR tux shop since ivory varies depending on company (the mens wearhouse looks like buttercup not ivory) this san sarno: here is ivory on ivory:
and this is ivory on white:

Hi Hive!
Would love your thoughts/feedback on this one. (And I know this question has been asked many times on the boards, but this is a little different twist...)
My dress is ivory. The groomsmen are wearing white shirts, black pants, and different shades of goldenrod-y yellow ties. The Mister is wearing a charcoal gray suit, black shirt... and either a white or ivory tie.
Should he match me? Or should he match the groomsmen? (Ivory, or white?) Or is this not a big deal, and just get a tie we like?
Thanks in advance!
