I’ve fallen in love with Ivy and Aster’s Duchess gown for my wedding! Finally, I found my blush-colored, non-strapless, elegant gown 🙂 Now my only problem is finding the right accessories to go with it.
I think it needs a belt, but I don’t really like that “blingy sash” look. However, I can’t really visualize what it would look like. What kind of belt or sash would look good with it?
Here’s another pic:
Also, I had originally hoped to get this veil by Vera Wang White at DB: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Two-tier-Chapel-Length-Veil-with-Lace-Applique-VW370017_Accessories-Veils-Cathedral
But now I’m not sure that it’ll really match. Could I wear that veil with this dress, or would it not look right? I can’t decide. If not, what kind of veil would be better or match the style of the dress better?
And of course, it’s never too early to start thinking about jewelry 🙂 At first I thought just a strand of pearls but now I’m thinking that it might be kind of pretty to have something different, just because the dress itself is so simple. Would something like this look totally out of place?
(And yes, that necklace is Forever21…. probably WON’T actually get my wedding jewelry from there, but hey, I’m all for a good deal!)
My wedding doesn’t really have much of a cohesive theme – just “pretty”, if that makes sense. We initally planned to have small garden wedding but it’s developed into something a lot bigger. Our venue is probably going to be my grandparent’s plantation house in New Orleans, so imagine a pretty, romantic backyard southern wedding 🙂
Any of you lovely bees’ input and suggestions would be more than welcome!

love the dress. i actually probably will be getting wedding jewelry from Forever21. they have so many pieces that look pretty good for the price. i’ve never been a big wearer of jewelry and can’t fathom spending a ton on stuff i’ll wear for a day.

I think that a belt with flowers would be nice for that dress. Not to blingy and you can add color or not either way I think is pretty.

Also I think you could do a veil with that dress maybe not as elaborate but here are some IMO that would look good with that dress.
Hope this helps good luck!

On their blog Lovely Bride styled this dress three ways, one with a very pretty Ivy and Aster shrug. I’m in love with the look, but it wasn’t for me. Here’s the link…
It’s a gorgeous dress, whatever you choose I’m sure it will look great!

Great choice! I also have this dress in blush 🙂
Like you, I have been wondering what accessories to wear/ what colours are going to match the blush etc…
I have decided to wear a beaded/ rhinestone belt which I got from etsy.com (they photoshoped a few belts so I had a bit of an idea of what it would look like), and a pair of stunning earings http://www.samanthawills.com.au/detail/la-marixe-earrings
Also agree with Klein2bReidy, a nice belt with flowers would look amazing.
You could definatly wear a veil (perhaps not stark white, maybe ivory or an off white colour).
If you go to the link below and browse through the photographs there are a few photos of the dress worn a few different ways by a model.
There was also a feature on stylemepretty last week
Hope this helps 🙂

Thanks guys! I love the idea of a flower sash. If the colors match (I’ll have to see them together in person) I might try this one in blush:
@zari-21: great dress choice! I’m sure you’ll look beautiful in it!

Ooh, this is my dress! I’m getting it in ivory.
I’m going to just have a plain ivory sash, in silk – ie the same colour, but a different texture.
I think the veil you’re thinking of will work really well – the tulle will blend in with the tulle of the dress’s top layers, and the lace will add a nice detail.
My veil is a bit of a statement in that it’s a floor-length silk chiffon veil by Belle and Bunty. Since it’s chiffon, not tulle, as is therefore not transparent, it’s quite a big part of the overall look.
I am completely undecided about jewellery! If I had £3K to spend on earrings, I think I’d just get a pair of Tiffany Legacy diamond earrings and be done with it. Alas…

Pretty! I would pair it with a statement necklace and a hair piece.
