I’m strongly considering the J.crew Heidi dress in either newport navy or dark cove for my bridesmaids but I am NOWHERE near a location where they would be able to try it on. I have 5 maids, all with toally different shapes and sizes ranging from a size 6, 5’0″ girl with a DD chest and curvy hips to a size 0, 5’10” girl with a AA chest and no hips but I really think this might look good on all of them. I’d love to hear feedback from other brides or maids that have tried this dress on or had their bridal party wear it to gauge how flattering it was!
As a side note: did any of your maids happen to be pregnant at the time of your wedding? My FSIL is currently TTC and may be very pregnant by the time my ceremony rolls around next spring and I’m unsure what dress to choose that could potentially accomodate her since I really would like them in a uniform style.

i dont have pictures, but I tried this dress on when I was a size 10, 36F and I found it very comfy and flattering. There was definitely some cleavage, but not too much For a wedding. Go for it!

All my girls (with the exception of the one on the left end with lighter blue dress) wore J. Crew. I know it’s not the same dress you are asking for pictures of, but I thought this would still help seeing it on girls of all different shapes. The Jersey fabric & the Chiffon would be great for a pregnant bridesmaid because it is comfortable and flowy. The dresses fit true-to-size but some come with a built-in bra/corset that makes the top fit a little tighter, so just keep that in mind when ordering. The girl with red hair, second from the end on the right side was pregnant at the time & her dress looked fabulous on her!

SeasideBride510: that is so helpful, it’s good to hear that J.Crew dresses in general work well on multiple body types-including pregnant ones! You and your BP looked beautiful!

I love the Heidi dress! My girls and I chose the Heidi long dress in dark eggplant. I’m happy to say it is flattering on a 2 through a 20! I don’t have good pics, but I was happy to see that the dress looked great on everyone. It also coordinates really nicely with my Madame Gres / Grecian-inspired dress.
The only question I would have would be the pregnancy. It is fitted in the waist, but loose around the hips. It depends how high her ‘bump’ sits, but she might need to go up a size or two and then tailor it, or let it out a bit in the waist. Just make sure she keeps that in mind when ordering.

My maids are wearing a mix of J Crew dresses (their choice as to which one) and I have a pregnant bridesmaid. That maid chose the Suzy which is ULTRA forgiving. Actually, another one of my maids also chose that dress – she’s not pregnant, she just really found it comfortable and flattering.

2 of my bridemsaids are wearing the Heidi in Newport Navy. I really think it is the most flattering style! They are very easy/flexible with returns and exchanges. If you order online or by phone, you can return it to ANY jcrew store, not just the bridal locations. I had the girls guess their best size, and 3 out of 5 were perfect fits. 2 ordered a second dress, and then returned the old one to their local jcrew store.

My bridesmaids all wore JCrew dresses in Newport Navy – one was Heidi (although not a pregnant one). Two of of my bridemaids who were pregnant (one 8 months, one 6 months) found JCrew to be super accomodating – allowing them to order multiple dresses and return the ones they didn’t wear long after the return policy allowed. I would definitely give them a call and explain the situation. Here are some pics as well.
