Help me make a decision on the dress! Both are within my budget of $300.
I purchased the J Crew Vivian dress used from another bride for $200. I spotted the dress years ago before I was engaged and always thought that is what I wanted to wear. To make it work, it needs some alterations right now (probably about $100 worth).
Now I am having second thoughts. The strapless style is driving me crazy- it will not stay up and I think I want to order a gown from LulaKate instead for $285. This is a photo of the LulaKate dress show in blue and short. Mine would be long and white, of course 🙂 but same neckline, fabric (silk shatung) and an a-line skirt.
Which dress do you like better? Also, the LulaKate dress cannot be returned so I will have to stick with that decision.

If you are not comfortable you should buy the other dress!! I like them both but you need to love your dress!

I like the second dress… it is very similar to mine!
Well okay, not VERY similar but it does have the same off the shoulder straps. I love my dress… it never falls.

I think either dress will be lovely. However, if your only concern with the J.Crew dress is that it won’t stay up, alterations should fix that. It probably needs to be taken in some at the waist…then it won’t fall down.

I would go with second – love the straps!

I like the second dress, but for that price wooh. Have you tried looking at Dillards, Macy’s, or Bloomingdales? I bought one similare to the second for a cocktail party. It was a beautiful silk and was only 130.

I like the second better. The neckline is very elegant, and it sounds like you will be more comfortable in a style with a strap. Comfort is key on the big day!

Thanks, everyone! I think I am going with the second dress 🙂
