Hosted by our HORRIBLY AWESOME Wedding Party! Wonderful Bridesmaids and Groomsmen DO exisst!
I thought I would do a little recap of our wonderful Jack and Jill that was held on April 6th! Jack and Jills (Stag and Does, Back and Does etc) for those of you who don’t know, are traditionally held to raise money for the Bride and Groom. They are VERY popular in my area (almost mandatory). We were on the fence about having one, but our Bridal Party decided that they would like to have one for us … so we went along with it! And, I am so happy we did!
I thought that it would be great oppertunity for our wedding party to get to know each other better, as well as to raise a little extra cash. We felt a little greedy so FH and I decided that we would donate half of our profits to our local MS Walk (I have a giant team that walks every year) as my Mom suffers from MS, as well as a few other issues.
I was nervous about the outcome, but we ended up raising over $2000.00! I am so glad that we will have a significant amount to donate as my fundraising goal is low this year due to the wedding being the weekend after the walk.
We are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends!
Here are some photos from the evening! It was a Sports themed event (FH is a HUGE sports nut) and guests were asked to wear their favourite sports gear or Jerseys.
Our MOH and BM (who are husband and wife) did such an amazing job of planning everything. Here is our “Concession Stand” that was filled with hot dogs, popcorn, cookies, cupcakes and many other sweets! There was also a table with fruits, cheeses, etc.
MOH and her Mom (my Aunt) made all of the desserts! I am a hobby baker so it was a nice treat to have something special made for me!
We had a great raffle table filled with sports autographs, gift baskets, Adidas gear, and sporting event tickets.
As I mentioned above, I am a baker. I am not into sports, at all. SO they had me wear an apron with a big button that said “Baking is a Sport!” I can’t seem to find a photo of FH and I together…
There was a series of dares that we had to complete in order to recieve a certain amount of donated cash. If we didn’t want to complete the dare, we could pass it along to the wedding part for half of the amount. Here we are taking a “body shot” off of my BROTHER! Haha! (sorry for the cell phone pic)
Here, we were dared to switch clothes. Well, I knew that FH’s pants were not going over my bum, so I gave him my 36I bra to create a diversion. Needless to say, it worked! He then had to give me a 30 second lap dance. Funniest moment of the night!
This is our bridal party doing a dare together! They had to touch their tongues to their noses. If they couldn’t they had to touch their tounge to another bridal party members tounge!
And lastly, we had pie-in-the-face jars! There were two pies, one would go to FH or me, and the other would go to a wedding party member. Here is BM J getting ready for her pie!
BM J got me back. Jerk!
Overall, it was a wonderful evening! Next up is my shower/bachelorette and then the wedding! Yay!
