We just came back from our honeymoon in Ocho Rios!!!    mlb032488, it is BEAUTIFUL!!!  Heads up…Ocho Rios is approx 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours away from the airport, which is in Montego Bay.  Fiance and I knew that, but some travelers didn’t and were not happy.  LOL.  I just uploaded some movies and music to my tablet for the ride.  Our resort (Sandals) provided us with shuttle transportation to and from and it was NOT as bad as it may sound.  The shuttle bus driver was super cool, and pointed out landmarks and provided alot of Jamaican history.  He also piped awesome Reggae music thru the bus and asked that we all sang along…and we DID!  He made a pit stop for about 10 mins at a jerk chicken hut where we got beers/drinks/and of course JERK CHICKEN!

The 2 hour ride wasn’t bad at all,  I actually enjoyed it. It’s certainly 1 of the things I advise on whenever I have the opportunity to though.

I do love Couples Resorts! It’s important to note that at Sans Souchi they’ve sort of let nature take it’s course. So, even if you’re in an oceanview, you could be looking at a tree.

We’ve had several couples at Tower Isle recently that raved about it.

Have a great time in Jamaica!

We spent a week at Jewel Dunn’s River in Ocho Rios for our honeymoon in April and loved it.  We actually only left the resort once, as we were just fine hanging out by the pool and beach.  We went on an ‘excursion’ one day to Fern Gully, a botanical garden, duty free shopping center and Dunn’s River Falls.  I would probably only do Fern Gully and Dunn’s River Falls again.  If you do venture out to Dunn’s River Falls, just beware that it’s a bit of a tourist trap and the crafts area is INSANE.  They will be all over you to buy things.  The waterfall is really cool, though…and worth seeing.

As a PP mentioned, the bus ride is about 2 hrs from the airport to Ocho Rios.  We also didn’t mind it at all and actually enjoyed it a little.  Our driver stopped about half an hour into the trip and we were able to buy Red Stripes (or Rum Punch…and I’m sure they had other options) and snacks if we wanted.

I can’t wait to go back.  I’m trying to convince my husband that we should go back for our 1 year anniversary 😉
