Does anyone have any personal experience with vacationing (of course, this would be my honeymoon) in Jamaica in October?  I know it's off-season, and I've also researched to find out that it's the rainiest month of the year there.  But I have my heart SET on Jamaica.  We're getting married Oct 18th and I've never been to the carribean.  I wanted to do an all-inclusive resort, and I'm on a tight budget.  I know, I know, too many "I wants."  I would just hate the idea of post-poning my honeymoon for a while.  I think I'd be okay with a couple of rainy days.  I'm SURE we can think of something to do inside (smile).

    Opinions? Ideas?  Thanks, ladies.

Ok.  To be honest, I was there from Oct. 10-13th of last year (07) to plan out my wedding there for this April.  And it truly rained, I mean like tropical storm raining for 3 out of 4 days.  However, the last day was sunny!  But it was POURING for day after day, with only a little let up and then it was drizzling.  And there were some people down there for vacation and they were all commenting around the pool how they had had fun anyway, but that if they had known it was rainy season they wouldn't have come down.  I saw some of the same people in the spa one day. And one day when the rain let up but it was gray, some people went out to play tennis.  But mostly, people kept to the open air bar (under the roof).

So, I can't suggest going there in October.  If you do go, hopefully you will luck out and have lots of sun!  But speaking from (a little) experience, it could definitely rain.

Jamaica is gorgeous in October. The weather is perfect, it's nice a warm. It's just like Hawaii.....a little rain but always clears up and usually it's at night so things are lush in the morning.

I think it's hard to predict what the weather will be like then. You might luck out and end up with beautiful, sunny days. Or you might get unlucky and have heavy downpours every day. Technically, October is still hurricane season for Jamaica. If you do end up going, be sure to buy trip insurance.

I was going to echo ant. October is still hurricane season for the Caribbean.

I think it depends on what you want to do. If your heart is dead-set on the beach, maybe going during rainy season is not the best plan. But if you just want to be in Jamaica and see the beautiful land, then it probably wouldn't be that big of a deal. Also, if it did happen to rain/pour every day, would you be incredibly disappointed? If so, maybe you should think about going somewhere else.
