I see what you are talking about. I love ovals, but the idea of buying them online made me nervous for this reason. That being said, its gorgeous and its purchased already. I would just be excited that the ring is bought .  I’m sure once you have it on your finger, all doubts will disappear

MsDub:  I don’t see a bow tie at all.  I think it’s a really lovely ring!

It is gorgeous. There is a very obvious bow tie in the image, however remember the picture is motionless and that when it is on your finger throwing sparkles it may not be noticable at all!

Are you sure that’s not the people reflecting in the ring?  When I’ve seen photos of bowties they look different from that (longer across the stone, etc.)

I love it, it’s beautiful!

It has a bowtie but it doesn’t look like a horrendous bowtie. You have to bear in mind that neraly ALL marquise and oval stones have one and don’t worry about it. It is a knock-out gorgeous stone and a gorgeous ring. The pic is a still shot. When the ring is on your hand and moving back and forth, the sparkle will negate any issues you have with it. Congratulations!

MsDub:  From what I understand, the “bowtie” is just the way oval diamonds are cut (I’ve been trying to do lots of oval research) Like Olivepepper said, once it hits the light and your see it on your hand when it’s moving, odds are you won’t notice it!

I’ll be on the look out for any bowties this weekend when I go ring shopping with my friend so she can tell my SO exactly what to get. 😉

I think it looks great. I also got my ring from James Allen and my boyfriend showed me the link after he proposed. Totally different rings, but my ring looks SO much more sparkly and beautiful in real life. I have a J colored stone and in the picture online I could see some color. I’ve never seen color in real life. Bottom line, I wouldn’t worry about it! It looks great online and will look even better on your finger.
