Anyone else feeing the January Blues? I got engaged just after Thanksgiving, the holidays were filled with talks of the wedding and whatnot, but now the wedding isn’t until next April so I’m feeling the slump of nothing to plan, I just read the bee all day lol.
FI and I are paying for a chunk of the wedding, my parents paying for the rest, but they own their own business and finances aren’t 100% secure so I’m worried about that, we have two weddings to attend, bachelorette parties, showers, two babies (my sis and bro are both having kids) etc this year and will have to pay for all of that stuff, so I’m definitely stressing about money.
I just stopped BC so now we’ll be NTNP and I’m anxious but excited about that too. I’m sure my hormones are a bit out of whack because of that as well.
I think every winter I get a touch of seasonal depression. Last year I was in therapy but I also was dealing with my parents divorce at that time.
My poor FI has had to deal with a moody future wife and I feel bad, he starts to worry that it’s him/our relationship that’s the problem which it absolutely is NOT. I can’t wait to marry him and have his babies!!
I know things will get better, I just felt like it would help to write it out and maybe commiserate with some other bees…

Oh me too! I have to set little things every couple weeks to look forward to in order to get me through the winter. The winter times always make me sad. I blame lack of sunlight and I’m just not a cold weather girl..especially when it snows. I feel claustrophobic.
Hang in there. Spring and sunshine and seratonin will be back soon! lol

Make sure you’re getting plenty of Vitamin D! And aerobic exercise. They really help me. Jan and Feb used to be months I would DREAD due to my guaranteed negative mood. It was really awful. Now, it’s almost like any other time of year… with a slight undertone of y-e-a-r-n-i-n-g for spring. 🙂

@joya_aspera: Yes I’m definitely trying to get in more exercise, it def helps. I actually might start taking prenatal vitamins since we’re going to be NTNP (but hoping…) so I’ll check into the vitamin D level too. 🙂

No, but that could be b/c I am getting married next weekend. Once things settle down I bet I get post wedding/February blues, though.

I hear ya! I hate this time of year and the lack of sunlight. I lack motivaton, want to stay in bed, and just feel “down”. I was exercising at least four times a week, but now it’s more like three. I feel as though I have to “convince” myself to work out now. ~ I’ve spoken with my doctor about SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) before and he shared with me that light therapy is really helpful. I guess maybe I should consider getting one of the many lights on the market, eh!?
Remember, the sun will come out…soon!
