I dont know if anyone is having a Japanese inspired or Japanese ceremony BUT I wanted to share my idea and I wanted feedback!!
The Japanese believe that the gods tie an invisible red string around the ankles of men and women who are destined to be soul mates and will one day marry each other.
But when you watch or see many modern day japanese interpretations they usually show the red string attached to a pinky or finger. like this
I thought wouldnt it be an ADORABLE idea for our photography for the wedding to incorporate this? Like have a red string attached to our pinkys symbolizing us?
Thoughts? Would it look stupid?
Any other asian cultures believe in this?

The Chinese believe in this too! I think it’s a really cute idea!

That’s a great idea. Could you incorporate it into the ceremony too? So many people are doing handfasting thesedays, but this could be your Japanese inspired version?

I think it’s great. I want to do something Japanese in my wedding as I have a really close family friend in Japan who I miss a lot. I don’t know if she’ll be able to come but either way, I’d like to do SOMETHING to incorporate the culture into our wedding.
