    The other thread is over 500 now so I figured I'd start a new one. :)

    Shortly before Jasmine went on holiday I put in an order for a dress inspired by the discontinued Maggie Sottero design Krisha. I requested some changes to the beading/lace on the bust and a halter strap (strapless simply doesn't work for me - I tried it!). I'm very appreciative that they give us an option to customize! My E-ring was also custom made and I love how unique it is.

    You forgot to link to the last post for those just following. I'd link it but I'm on my phone so I can't do it the correct way.....

    @Aussiemum:  Thanks. I imagine that my dress probably isn't all that popular since it was discontinued after all :), but I found that dresses like that seem to be pretty flattering to me and I like lace, so I'm hoping it will turn out well. I will definitely let everyone know when the mid-production photos come in.

    My dress came today!  The tracking hasn't updated since Jan 28th though, so I was completely surprised by it when it came!  It's gorgeous, very sturdy and heavier than what I expected.  Not too heavy, but heavy enough to know it's a good quality dress!  It fits like a glove....I'm expecting to lose a few pounds before the wedding (isn't that what the majority of us think? haha) so hopefully it'll be more comfortable.

    Have I bustled it correctly?  I found the hooks and kind of just figured out which one went with which hook, but it kind of looks very obvious where the hooks are.  Is it just me focusing too much on the hooks?  Maybe no one else can notice?  Is it too poofy?

    @NYBubblesBee:  All the underbustles I've seen have looked like that. I can't see any hooks at all.

    Do you have pics of you in your dress?

    @babecake:

    Thank you for your replies!  I don't have anyone home to help me tie the laces and stuff in the back.  I don't want the fiance to see me in the dress yet...but I might cave soon and just make him tie it for me =)  Once I put the dress on right I will post pics.  I'm trying to shed the extra winter insulation my body accumulated now haha.

    @babecake:  and

    @ HiHeel

    Did either of you have the Gemma bustled? If so, do you have pics of it bustled?

    I got an initial reply from JBS about fabric samples...they sent me photos of the samples and I emailed them back with which colors I want sent to see in person, haven't heard back since (I'm hoping because of CNY).

    @ralessio:  No I didn't have mine bustled. I bought a reception dress so that I wouldn't haveUFO worry about it. Hiheel's daughter has a reception dress also so I doubt she would've ordered it with a bustle

    @ralessio:  Same here, as it was only a ceremony dress, didn't worry about the bustle.

    @babecake:

    @hiheel:  Thanks for the reply. I knew Hiheel had a reception dress so I figured it wasn't bustled, but I wasn't sure about babecake's dress.

    I'm sure Jasmines could bustle it though, right? I'm thinking a 3-point french bustle.

    I have been waiting for about 2 weeks to post this.

    Now the bomb shell - THE WEDDING IS OFF.

    My daughter called the Wedding off 2 weeks ago - it's the best decision she has made.

    After a record number of dresses - all the work to get everything perfect, all for nothing but a small price to pay for my daughter's long term happiness. A perfect Wedding does not make a perfect marriage.

    Now to decide what to do with all the dresses. She loves the Gemma dress, so she will hang on to that one.

    Being such an organised person I have purchased everything.  She even ordered custome made shoes a day before she called it off.

    Instead of a Wedding we are heading off to Europe in July for 6 weeks.  2 weeks of Greek Island hopping (Mykonos, Santorini & Skiathos) a tour of Italy and some quality time with our Greek relatives.   Yell now more planning.

    So to answer babecake's previous question, I only have the one daughter & 2 sons.

    We all join the Bee to plan for the Wedding and look for dresses but end up staying. I will stay around and follow all the beautiful dresses made by JBS.

    So I managed to put my dress on, zip it up, and lace up 70% of it...its really tight!!! My dress is mermaid with an A line overlay. I could barely bend over to put my heels on! And when I stood up, I had horizontal creases that you could see through the overlay :( I guess I had measured too tight. Im not sure if losing a few  winter pounds would help, I might need to get it adjusted. And its a bit too long! You girls who are ordering, make sure you don't measure exact. You need to pinch an inch of extra fabric around the hips for a mermaid or firm fitting dress!

    @hiheel:  Wow sorry to hear the news. You are right though, a perfect wedding does not mean a perfect marriage. Are they still together...maybe the wedding put a little too much stress on the relationship and they just need some time. My fiance and I just moved across the country (Florida to Cali) and the move certainly stressed us. We were bickering non-stop for a few weeks then I finally said "stop, let's talk about this" and we realize why we love eachother and that we need to just relax.

    The dresses you got from JBS are all beautiful and I'm sure you can find someone who could make use of them, if you can't.

    I wish your daughter the best of luck in all that she does <3

    @NYBubblesBee:  My dress was really tight at the hips also and I couldn't bend over either. If you're gettng a mermaid dress, you should measure your hips when you sit down. That will give you the right measurement

    @hiheel:  Oh no hiheel. It's sad but good news. Sad that we won't see those beautiful dresses in action but GOOD news that she cancelled it before she regretted going through with tye wedding.

    My prayers and thoughts are your family. Hope you have a fantastic trip in the greek islands!

    @hiheel:  Sorry to hear the news, but I'm glad she was able to realize it wasn't right in time and had the courage to call things off despite all the plans that had been made.

    Someday when the time is right I'm sure your daughter will use her beautiful dress, and I'm sure that someone out there will be very happy and grateful to use the other stuff if you decide you don't want it. Please do stay here and continue to give us all the benefit of your knowledge. :)

    @hiheel:  I am so sorry to hear about your daughters wedding! If you think it's for the best, than it must be. Things always work out the way they are supposed too, I think.

    I do hope you will stay on the Jasmine's thread  - we all need your eye for style and expertise!!

    @ highheel: it takes great courage to make such a decision, especially with planning in full effect. I respect her decision to do what she knows is probably best and it's wonderful to know that she has such a great supportive mom by her side. I am probably more humbled by the reality of the situation. So many of us (myself included) are so overwhelmed with planning this momentuous occasion in our lives, yet we dont focus too much time on ensuring the relationship is where it needs to be prior to getting married. I always appreciate your feedback to the ladies and I look forward to having you assist me when my dress is being made.

    @NYBubblesBee:  Very sorry to hear yours didn't quite fit. I hope that you're able to find a solution for that. Perhaps it's good to have the extra length on the dress in case a seamstress needs to alter it and they need extra fabric? I am not sure how much fabric Jasmine's puts in the seams to allow for alterations, but it might come in handy.

    So sorry to hear about the news, but it could actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise.  Whatever happens, we wish for your daughter's happiness.  Enjoy the vacation, and it would be good to get away for a while, and maybe step into a new perspective.
