I am having the Alfred Angelo 2353 made by Jasmine’s Bridal but I am not sure if it is worth doubling the price to upgrade the quality of the workmanship and/or the material. The dress seems fairly simple to make compared to some of what they have on the website so the workmanship seems to only need “premium” but I am not, in any way, a professional on the subject. I dont even know what to think about the materials. What do you think???
(Same dress, different models)

Hi, I had my dress made by JBS. I went with the fabric upgrade, but not the seamstress upgrade. I’m satisfied with my decision because they will continue to alter your dress until you’re satisfied. So why pay more for the seamstress? was my thought. I took my dress to a seamstress to have it altered for sizing. She has been making dresses and alterations for over 30 years. She was shocked at the price when I told her- she thought is was a $2000-$3000 dress and said the quality and sewing were amazing and beautiful.
However, cheap fabric is cheap fabric and cannot be compensated for by design. you can ask them to show you pictures of the different fabrics.
Here is my JBS posting.
Hope that helps!

In all honesty, the Alfred Angelo is probably cheap fabric, too! I don’t know that I would pay more for the upgrade.

I have read a lot of stuff on WB about Jasmine’s, and have since decided to make my dress with them, too. It looks like yours is organza. One bee who actually travelled to Souzhou (sp?) where the Jasmine’s factory is said that the biggest difference between Premium and Designer grade fabrics was found in organza. She said the Designer organza had a sheen to it that made it look slightly luminescent, while the Premium organza didn’t have any sheen. I hope that info is of use to you!
