    Now, I ordered a Duarte dress (La Sposa) in Diamond white.

    I have few concernce regarding my mid production photos.

    1) The color: I think it's a bit darker than the color I wanted but I know that computer screens lie about colors. Also I know that they don't use flash when taking photos, that way they show more details. but I'll ask Lisa about that to be sure.

    2) Layers: I think the skirt in the original dress had more tulle layers between the top layer ( that contains lace) and the lining. I can't see the seems of the lining in the original while I see them clearly in the replica.

    3) Lace arrangement on the top: In the replica, it doesn't have that nice circular arrangement on the top as the original, it seems more random to me.

    The Photos

    Mid production Photos by Jasmine's

    So what do you think bees?

    New Jasmine's/Chinese dresses thread!  Yay! I posted this in the last thread but here's a side by side comparison of my dress with the lace application (no beading) and my last progress photo with the lace and beading. I was thinking the lace got tucked in or something but it does look a bit unfinished now. What do you guys think? Otherwise, I am happy with how the dress turned out!

    @lazlouz:  It is so hard to compare the photos of the actual replicas with the fancy professional photos taken of the original. I think they've done a great job with your dress though. I see what you mean about the lace but once they clean it up a bit, I think it will look like the original.

    Also as you can see from my production photos, my dress color looks different in each one.  I got my dress in Off White.  The lighting really makes the difference.

    @nyota526:  I think it got tucked in when they were dressing the manniquin. You can ask Lisa about it to be sure..

    Other than that, your dress looks perfect.. I love your choice :)

    @nyota526: It looks like it's just sagging between the bust. The mannequin bust doesn't fill out the dress the way a natural bust does.

    The dress looks beautiful.

    Can I asl this question.??? Can you give Jasmone bridal any dress to make and they will??/ OR do you have to get a dress that they have shown on their website?

    Thanks

    @KevinsWife:  The answer is that they will make any dress which you have a photo of the front, back, and preferably sides of as well. you can also mix and match elements from a few dresses, as long as you are specific. it helps to pick one from their website as well.

    @KevinsWife:  you can send them a photos of a dress that's not featured on their website and ask them if they can replicate it. Those photos just need to be good photos so they can get the detail down. Many Jasmine's brides have designed their own dresses by combining features of other dresses and making them into their own custom dress.

    @lazlouz:  I think Jasmines have done a great job.  However, to put your mind at rest, just ask the question about the lace.  It never hurts to just double check, that is what I do.  I agree it is a combination of the mannequin's shape V your actual body and also how it dressed.

    Colour is really difficult to verify for all the reasons you yourself have noted.

    Lovely dress.

    Received the bridesmaid dresses today.  Amazed with the quality, I was expecting a layer of chiffon with some lining but they have a beautiful satin underskirt with lining sewn in and finished at the hem with a seam.  I certainly was not expecting this sort of quality for premium grade.  The material, finish and beading are just gorgeous.  Now to do the rounds all over Melbourne and make sure they fit the girls. My daughter tried on a couple, that are similar to her measurements and they look fantastic.  My husband and future son in law both commented that they will look like greek goddesses.

    So happy and relieved just hope they all fit well.

    @happylizzle:  thanks! I am really excited!  I shot a note out to Lisa regarding the top lace part of the bodice to verify that it's possibly tucked in and that's why it looks sort of uneven. Other than that, I expect them to ship it out to me by the end of the week!

    @hiheel:  that's wonderful!  I am glad you are happy with your purchases! Hope everyone's dresses fit them well

    Here is the completed flower girl dress.  My youngest granddaughter will be wearing this dress.  She will be announcing the arrival of the bride. A tiny girl, 5 years old but just fits in a size 4 - my cutie.

    I am really happy, the story of the dress is that the magic skirt catches the petals as they fall off the flowers.  Originally I didn't want the flowers, but then the dress didn't make sense.  James is sending me two extra flowers, we may increase the number on the band (not sure as she is really little), or as #1 daughter suggested, perhaps a headband.

    For those asking, designer fabric, premium making.  Happy NANA Laughing

    James said that I might scare the seamstresses with how specific my instructions are! :( He said it jokingly, with a laugh, but I'm really sad now!! I have been recommending all my friends who haven't been married yet to go with Jasmine's... hopefully that makes up for it? :(

    @toasty:  I gotta say, you scared me with all those diagrams and instructions too. That's like professional seamstress tuff going on there lol  I am glad they are being patient with your requests. I do hope they get your dress the way you want it.

    @hiheel:  wow! Gorgeous!  The dresses look wonderful on these girls! Congrats.

    @Aussiemum:  adorable flower girl dress!  Jasmine's is a hit

    As for my dress. I have been told it's ready for final inspection. After I questioned about the lace on the top of the bodice, they said it would be taken care of during final inspection.  I have to pay the balance before it goes there though.  Other than that, I think I am ready to give my approval to the other parts of the dress but I'm going to inspect it one more time to make sure.

    @happylizzle:

    This is the fabric swatch photograph James sent me.  I didn't like it, because I wanted a dark red.  James assured me it was so I ordered a sample.

    James was right!!  It is a beautiful dark red Georgette, a very blue red, so not bright.

    This just demonstrates that you cannot choose colour from a photograph.

     @hiheel:  Great fit, you must be just so pleased.  Can't wait for my dresses now, but still waiting on the reception dress to be finished.

    What is your next project?  Have you ordered your flower girl dresses yet?

    @hiheel:  They look absolutely beautiful!

    I got an email today saying that my dress has been posted via Aramex Global Express. I've never heard of that company before but the email states I should receive it in 5-8 business days. Arghhh I can't wait!

    @Aussiemum:  Yeah the 2 I posted have a great fit and look gorgeous but unfortunatly there are a few issues with one of them that I am sorting out with James  :(

    Still waiting on 2 girls to try on their dress hopefully tomorrow, but I am fairly certain they are OK as my daughter tried them on to see how they look.

    My next project is the 2 flower girl dresses currently being worked on and last night I ordered the whole bridal party, preparation robes/kimonos.  Ivory for the Bride and 2 flower girls and a pearl grey for the bridesmaids. 8 robes in total in the designer silky satin fabric to match the wedding colours.

    This is a real luxury purchase and they will double up as their gift. It will be a surprise on the day and they can take pictures having their hair and make up done.

    Do you have mid-production pictures of the reception dress yet?

    @babecake:  I've never heard of them either. I received mine with TNT and both times got them within a few days, JBS also informed me within 5-8 days.

    Did you get a tracking number, you go through so many emotions waiting on the dress until you get it in your sweet little hands :)

    Let us know how it goes.

    damn Hurricane Sandy! I know #firstworldproblems,  but it's sort of halted mail in most areas around me, including FedEx and UPS.  So I'm going to wait a few days before I give approval of the dress in order to avoid any discrepencies with getting the dress because there's serious backup here.  I am not in a rush anyway. We are safe and it didn't impact us as badly as it did in NYC (we are in neighbors of President Obama lol)

    @Pinkmoon:  That's gorgeous!

    @hiheel:  You are really a great mum.  I haven't even started to think about what to wear for the 'getting ready' shots.

    We had an issue with the hem of the reception dress, but just this morning I got photos of the revised dress.  I think it needs steaming to get the roushing even, let me know what you think.  Here are the pics:
