I know I’ve read around that brides got their BM dresses from JCrew on sale when they do %’s off.
Do you need a coupon for those – or just wait for a general storewide sale?
What did you do? How much of a discount did you get?

@spotted_giraffe: Have you looked online? I would assume they have a coupon policy or a way you can sign up for emails…
I haven’t heard them having crazy awesome sales – but I may be out of the loop.
Plus, if it goes on sale – it is becoming harder to get all the sizes you need. If you see the dresses you like now then get them – if you don’t want to pay those proces look elsewhaere – I used modcloth…

I think you have to wait for a general sale. JCrew doesn’t really do coupons. A lot of times the stuff is Final Sale, so you can’t return it, but if your girls know their sizes, you can get a great deal.

You just wait for a general sale, JCrew isn’t big on coupons. However, if you or anyone in your bridal party is a teacher or college student (or still has a college photo ID and looks similar to the photo still) you can get an additional 15% off.

I had J. Crew Bridesmaids dresses in m wedding. I found this website:
…I showed my bridesmaids this website so they had the info about when they would have their sales. I think sometimes you can save up to 40%!
Hope this helps!!

I think the sale is at the same time each year, when I was first looking at J Crew dresses the sale was on (I think it was February-March) I think every style was on sale, so you just added the dress to you cart and it was the sale price. I think it was 20% off.

Over the past year I have received numerous coupon codes from jcrew in my email usually 20-30% off. Just sign up through jcrew. They are definitely less often now that it is wedding season, and harder to get because a lot of size are sold out so I am glad my BMs got theirs early.
Usually when they are on sale more than 30% it is only select style and select colors as well so it depends on that as well.

thanks all! I’ll just sign up for the JCrew emails and see, but not put all my eggs in that basket. I’m iffy on the dresses (not like there’s a certain one that I LOVE) and I’m not sure all of my bms could fit, and waiting for a sale would be nervewracking..
Ugh, BM dresses have been the most stressfult part of this whole experience..

@spotted_giraffe: Don’t let it stress you out – ease off the gas on it.
Back up and reassess – do they HAVE to match – do they HAVE to be the same color – do they HAVE to be solid (no print).
Mine are none of these – unmatching floral cotton dresses that each girl picked. I am sure if you look through the unmatched bm bress threads you would be hard-pressed to find a bee who was sad she made this decision.
The girls get to find something they can wear again (and don;t bemoan the price of the one they are forced into).
You don’t have to have this be soemthing that stress you out – let it go. 🙂

@spotted_giraffe: I used J.Crew for bridesmaid’s dresses and I’m so glad I did. Some girls were able to get their dresses straight up on sale (two actually paid $60 for theirs). Other girls ended up using a 30% off coupon. They do coupon codes a lot, but be warned, the coupon codes tend to exclude bridesmaid’s dresses, so they’re more likely to have a handful of chances to use a coupon code. If you go the jcrew route, I recommend getting complimentary swatches first, and then checking with a consultant on your favorite color to make sure it’s not about to be discontinued.

@spotted_giraffe: Have you seen Donna Morgan? They are similar to the J Crew dresses (flowy, chiffon) and are cheaper even when the J Crew ones are on sale (unless they were super on sale). Plus they are sold in stores so you can try them on. They are having a sale right now, but it seems to be random styles and colours only: http://www.donna-morgan.com/bridal/by-color/icat/bridal_color

they are running a special now with 40% off your total purchase and free shipping

@suburbian: No, they don’t have to match. I’m just casting a wide net right now to come up with all kinds of ideas. So it just seems like the J. Crew ones get good feedback. Trust me, I’ve been searching out Modcloth and other similar sites trying to see if I can find something. Each bridesmaid lives in a different city – one lives here where I do. I wouldn’t mind mismatching, but I do want some consistency with the color – and apparently a nice dark purple is too much to ask for right now..
@whitums: thanks, I figured certain sales or coupons would exclude them.
@pixiecat: thanks, I’ll check them out. I think I’ve seen the site but I’m just getting overwhelmed with designers right now. We aren’t in too much of a rush on dresses, so I need to just check out some more places and see what we like.
