I would call them “haters.”  I’d agree that they were being mean and petty and have nothing more important going on in their own lives than to decide to talk about something that is none of their business!  I would also be really upset if I overheard someone talking crap about my e-ring!  Wow!  I love the way you responded to them though, “I will always love my ring because my Fiance gave it to me.”  Sometimes when people are rude (especially strangers) I am so caught off guard I can’t come up with a good comeback like that.  Since you love it, I’d say forget what the haters have to say, it’s a symptom of their own unhappiness!

I just assume they had nothing better to do with their life at that moment than bash someone elses engagement ring. Weather or not it was jealousy who knows. Was it rude? YES! Should you care? NO! Move on, YOU love your ring & that is what matters. πŸ™‚ Let the rude remarks roll off your back like it doesn’t phase you!

Oh & can I see a pic please, it sounds lovely?! πŸ™‚

Oh boy.

Just ignore them! Honestly, sometimes I wish that I had a heart-shaped or butterfly-shaped diamond, because I think they’re pretty! But I am in love with the three-stone design that my FH picked out for me. Just like you said, it doesn’t matter if it “goes out of style” — it will always be beautiful to you!. : )

I dunno.

Maybe they were jealous, or maybe they truly didn’t like your ring.

But either way, it was rude and in the end, it doesn’t make a difference. They’re two random ladies in a store.

(although I sort of wish that when they said your ring looked to big on your hand that you had sighed and said, “Yes, it’s such a problem being thin!”)

Yes they were rude, and probably feeling pretty high and mighty about their rings and being older. Some women are very cruel to each other for no reason other than they don’t know better. I think you responded in the right way and held it together. I would have probably said something very snarky back and that never ends well.

I have had similar situations where I felt slightly older women were judging my ring. It is very dainty and and vintage, with a .5 carat stone, so some people assume this is because Fi couldn’t afford more or they are confused as to why I would want a vintage ring. Often if I get the “judgy” vibe I mention that I love antique jewelry and I picked this out. Just to be clear that it is what I wanted, and often the stops them in their “judgy” tracks. Not everyone wants the same style ring, and wouldn’t life be boring if we did? Hold your head high and be proud of what your Fiance gave you, and let them stew in their “judginess”. It can’t be a very nice place for them to be anyway πŸ˜‰

@TheFutureMrsPage_xx:  OMG, that is BEAUTIFUL! : ) Seriously, just breathtaking. I’m normally not much of one for “bling”, but your ring is just so GORGEOUS — definitely agree that it looks wonderful on your finger, not too big at all!

Hmmm, sounds like some people need filters (or duck tape…ha, joking)

So sorry, I saw your ring in your other post and think it’s a beauty. Just brush it off, people will always have an opinion about something. Even if I truly didn’t like someone’s ring, I wouldn’t dare talk about it while I am in the same room or area with them.

P.S. My rings are both very dainty, and I know not everyone likes that kind of style. I hope those ladies mind their own business more often, though.
