@HonoraryNerd:  Our e-pics were pretty casual. We had them taken at the local arboretum. Our session was only one hour so we didn’t bother doing any outfit changes.

FI was supposed to wear nicer shoes…but he forgot them. So we had to just go with what he had.

My FI wore jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt for ours. We were outside at my parent’s farm and we were sitting on the ground and walking through cotton fields so we didn’t want to be “dressy”. I wore jeans and a chiffon shirt. Essentially, we both wore what we were most comfortable with and something that we wear 99% of the time.

@HonoraryNerd:  I think it’s a great idea to stay true to who you two are as a couple. If that’s how he dresses and feels comfortable then he shouldn’t have to play dress up. Your pictures will turn out all the better for it! We don’t have our pictures yet. I plan to wear a casual sundress and he will likely be in his usual jeans and golf shirt. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

@HonoraryNerd:  Ah. Is he open to feedback on that? He may be disappointed to spend a lot of money on pro pictures and then see that he doesn’t look great in them. Maybe you could make an outing out of choosing a new outfit together (say you want it colour coordinated – just colours that work together, not match). Buy him a golf shirt that fits if you must. Make him try it on and then make a huge ass big deal about how sexy he looks. It should work 😛

I am all for honesty, but it doesn’t seem nice to tell him he looks terrible when there is a way around that.

I think the e-photos should represent who you are. I’ve seen many ”casual” pictures for engagement shoots and STD, and it never bothered me, I never thought it was ”not enough”. I think it’s important to stay true to who you are, you will probably feel more comfortable while the pictures are taken, which is not necessarily the same if you play dress-up. 🙂

@HonoraryNerd:  He can get 1, proper polo for the occasion. If he wears black all the time, then just a plain black polo would look nicer, but still feel like him.

We did ours in casual, neither of us dresses up much regularly.  Actually, his parents still gave him crap for wearing his shirt tucked in (a habit he picked up here in DC) and now call him “Baron Von PreppyPants.”

We got tons of compliments on the pictures from our pretty traditional family members.  I don’t know if it matters, but we were 22 at the time.

We didn’t dress up! We feel most comfortable like this, so that is what we wore

I think band tees are a bit too casual, but going out to buy a simple black crewneck that fits would be fine and probably not make him uncomfortable and still feel like himself!

@HonoraryNerd:  hmm, I can see where the graphic tee might come off as too casual…like he just rolled out of bed casual lol. Does he have any plain colored tees? And just suggest he wear regular jeans, as opposed to “camo cargo shorts”.
