Yes, we ordered this and now are returning it in favor of the Jenny Yoo Aidan. The pictures on the BHLDN site are so beautiful and ethereal. In reality the tulle is very rough and reminded me of a child’s halloween costume. You may feel differently (I wanted to see the Soft Plum but they couldn’t ship out until February) as I only saw the Charcoal from Nordstrom’s. One of my girls ordered the Misty Rose from BHLDN to try on and also thought the fabric wasn’t great. My wedding is in the fall; perhaps this would be nicer for a spring or summer wedding? The matte fabric of the Aidan dress seemed much more flattering for everyone’s figure.

I agree with PP, the fabric is not that nice, if you are looking for a beautiful grey chiffon dress I would suggest dessy collections dresses in taupe

That’s disappointing to hear. I just ordered this dress yesterday to see in person. It looks so perfect in the picture. 🙁

I tried on the bridal version, and while it looks nice in pictures, in reality it’s very.. fluffy. Not terribly flattering. The bodice attaches to the skirt very abruptly, looks odd (cheap) without a belt or sash to cover it up, IMO.

I’m really surprised to hear the negative reviews! My bridesmaids are actually wearing this dress in the blue, and I was so pleasantly surprised at how gorgeous it is in real life. It was more money than I wanted my bridesmaids to have to spend, but they all loved it online and wanted it so we went for it. Everyone who has seen it in real life (my bridesmaids, mom, a few friends) have had nothing but amazing things to say about it. Maybe it really depends on the color.

to be a little more balanced, the Annabelle could be great for certain weddings — it has sort of a “fairy-look” about it and a little costume-y. On very thin bridesmaids it’s probably much more flattering, and it probably certainly depends on the color (I only saw one color in person — charcoal from Nordstrom’s — the others could be much better). One of my bridemaids did prefer the fit of the Annabelle to the Aidan and also liked the extra sash it came with, although she didn’t like the Annabelle fabric. I always wanted a chance to check out the Soft Plum from BHLDN but ran out of time because the Aidan color I liked was on its way to being discontinued. If you and your girls love it, go for it!

I was just looking at this dress and the Annabelle in mink gray online yesterday and wondering about it. Disappointed to hear it doesn’t live up in person, but so glad I came across this thread and won’t waste my time ordering!

We are going with the Aidan dress, but I did get a promotional e-mail from Jenny Yoo a few weeks ago with the new colors for the Annabelle — the new palette for this year looks really nice and very romantic! Definitely in contrast to the new colors for the Aidan which are darker and more neutral.

I tried this on at BHLDN this week and I loved it. I’m a curvier girl and tried on a 14. Here are the photos with and without a topper.  The topper definitely takes this to bridal level!

ah412:  Thank you! I’m glad to hear confirmation about the topper since it’s not a traditional way of creating a wedding dress!

I had a topper for my wedding dress. It was fantastic; I took it off for the reception and had so much fun. So many people complimented me on the “two-dress” look. I say go for it!
