@Pepperwoodsy:  What a dick.

This wasn’t a vendor but I’ll never forget an experience I had in a jewelry store with my old high school boyfriend.

The boyfriend and I went into a jewelry store to look at rings, a promise ring.  We told the guy this behind the counter and he rolled his eyes at us, but let us look at a few.  I found a few I liked and the guy said “It’s a big commitment, is somebody pregnant?”  I was so embarassed I ran out.  Asshole.

@Pepperwoodsy:  Yikes! That is so rude!!!

@skippydarling:  That’s terrible, what a way to lose business!

I’ve run in to rude sales people, waiters, etc. Happened to me this past weekend at a restaurant where the hostess walked by my table while I was biting my finger (I had a small hangnail that was killing me) and she grabbed my hand away from me and said, “Don’t be biting your fingernails, young ladies shouldn’t be doing that!”. I was like, wtf? Don’t call me out in a restaurant while I’m trying to enjoy my dinner and grab my hand!  I just smiled and rolled my eyes when she passed me. But then she came around AGAIN 10 minutes later, of course while I was licking food off a finger, and she called me out again!!! LOL it was the strangest and most uncomfortable experience ever!

Everyone socializes differently, but it gets uncomfortable when you can’t tell if they are actually trying to be rude or they don’t realize they are being rude.

@Pepperwoodsy:  Ugh – yea – this was over 13 years ago – I was a junior in high school.  Just super young and in love – it was a promise ring, not an engagement ring but this guy thought it would be funny to make us feel really awkward about it.

It feels like it happened yesterday….that’s how well i remember it.

@Pepperwoodsy:  Dang. I’d send an e-mail to the coordinators of the event calling him out on his poor business etiquette. They don’t need someone like that putting a bad impression on the fair as a whole. Good for you for standing up for yourself to his mean spirited responses.

@Pepperwoodsy:  I see. Mission accomplished, then. I hope you have better luck when it is much closer to your date and time for you to hire someone.
