I'm not sure if I'm going to watch it or not. I grew up in South Jersey so most of us weren't like the Long Island/North Jersey people but I sure did know a few guys who acted like them!
Oh man you have no idea! I know plenty guys like that from Jersey, Staten Island, LI, etc. It's a joke around our house. FI's cousin brought him 2 bottles of Ed Hardy wine as a B-day gift LOL!
Even the crew from the show thinks it's hsyterical - have you seen this??

I'm not sure what show your talking about, but I went to school in central Jersey (between Princeton and Trenton) and like @MissAsB said you can tell a difference in the way people acted between those who were from North Jersey/Long Island and South Jersey...not all, but there were a lot
I know, SandDollar! When we were in school, we always said that South Jersey should be its own state because everyone thinks that we should talk like "Joisey" and it drove me up a wall!
haha! I was just going to say that! It seems like Jersey is really two states and not just one
@ SandDollar & MissAsB - You're right there defintely is a difference. And for what it's worth, I think most people who fit the "Jersey Guido" stereotype aren't even from NJ!
My family's been going to the shore since my mom was little & we go further south (Sea Isle, Avalon, Stone Harbor). I always wanted to get married at Congress Hall in Cape May.
FI's family spends Thanksgiving in his Aunts house - it's 2 of those row houses by the boardwalk in Pt. Pleasant. Will I be in Jenks Thanksgiving weekend?! You betcha I will! ;)
gaaaaaah, mr.d and I love watching the jersey shore. I only wish we had a dvr so I wouldn't have to stay up so late!
@dorsay: I love my DVR but at the moment is has decided that it doesn't want to get programming so I have to leave it off for a few days and hope that it comes back so I don't miss anything!
@Kitty: where on LI did you grow up? I'm from there originally too. When I moved to Ohio I had to work really hard to lose my accent (which wasn't even as thick as most people's are) and now people don't believe I am from LI
So, I was watching the previews for next week's show and saw Snooki getting punched by a guy. I seriously re-watched it about 5 times. I couldn't believe it! The guy seriously hit her so hard that her hat flew off!
I can't stop watching this show. Also, call me Snickers. What's your Jersey shore name?

I am obsessed with this show. Living reaaaally close to Staten Island, where most of these morons are from I think helps make it funnier. Also, I am pretty sure I know who made that YouTube video! I knew some of the crew from shows I'd worked on with them, such a small world.
My Jersey name was TAN-Trum- which is pretty fantastic!! Love the show- hot sweaty mess. Love it.
I'm 100% Italian, not offended in the least bit, think it's hilarious. It is incredibly stereotypical, but....it's Mtv. That's what they do.
I love Snookie!! What a mess.
@Miss BooBoo: You're "TAN-trum", I'm "TAN-tric." Can we be the hot, sexy TAN-twins of the shore? We'd be the two most popular orange gals on the town! We'd be like a doublemint commercial, but with lots of bad hair extensions.
@galactipony- I am absolutely on board, but as long as we pack lots and lots of Bump-Its.
I can't stop watching this show. If I am flipping through the channels and I see a rerun on it on..I stop at watch it. I now call my bf "the situtation" LOL!!
My name (from the link above) is "The Good Time" ....awesome!
I just watched about 10 mins.
Pretty unbelievable but about right for MTV reality at this point...
I can see how it would be addictive
OMG ahaha my nickname is "The Back End"
So can we discuss how they showed Snookie getting popped by that dude in the preview and then blacked it out for the actual show last night... Do you think they legally couldn't show it because she's pressing charges on the guy or do you think they got so much s**t for it that they decided not to air the actual punch?
I watched this for the first time last night, and it was hilarious! I'm hooked.
i saw a few mins of this show and it reminded me too much of "the real world" except more lame haha.
My nickname is H-Scream from the link above, LOL!
Uh oh we got a situation over here...
Hah! I saw that nickname link on FB. Just call me "The Ashley Simpon of Cape May" LOL
MTV got a lot of flack for the now infamous "Snookie Punch". I heard that at 1st they were going to run it with a disclaimer about domestic abuse but I guess they pulled it. Turns out the guy who punched her is a Gym teacher at PS-something, I think Queens though I could be wrong.
This show is my kind of terrible! Sadly, I think my husband loves it far too much. I'm "Last Call." Ha!
They did end up airing a domestic abuse disclaimer after the show even though they didn't air the actual punch.
LOL "The Incident" might be my favorite so far, btw.
This show is HILARIOUS! Being a Jersey girl myself I did frequent the shore in my younger days (I'm 32)..I did Seaside for one year and Belmar for 2....Temptations closing party still the best time ever! Now I'm more laid back and try to stay in Point Pleasant if I do go down....these people are hilarious though but I'd be lying if i said I didn't know tons of people like them (or sort of)..haha
LOL I had the pleasure of going to NJ (Middleton, New Brunswick area) earlier this year for a wedding since my FI lived there for a few years when he first got out of college. None of the people I met were ANYTHING like that. HOWEVER, when we went to the wedding there were a lot of girls like that. The show is so freaking hilarious though I really like watching "The Situation" and the guy with the blowout they are too funny.

Is anyone as excited for this train wreck of a show as I am? I can't believe that they actually made this program and I'm slightly embarassed to admit that I'm looking forward to it. I feel like I get a pass because I grew up with a bunch of people who could very well be on this show - Long Island and not Jersey, but the same principle applies.
