24′ eiffel tower vases with ostrich feathers & a few peacock feathers incorporated into each one?

Also bring in the colours with linens/napkins/runners/chair covers/sashes/napkin rings/chargers/dishware/lighting, etc.

I like feathers I saw some people using those colored x mas ornaments (bulbs) in centerpieces and just hiding the hooks..

How about actual limes? and as someone said above some peacock feathers? and then ribbon is always easy to find.

Square vases at the dollar store with a purple ribbone tied around the tome, filled with a few limes and shortened peacock stuck in the ribbon bow? And then maybe some green foliage which is easy to cut if her wedding is spring through Fall or cheap to buy

I had a florist to mine, but you could easily use this as inspiration and create something yourself.

I’m doing a complete jewel tone wedding. My main color is the bright violet. I went out and bought about a LOT of colored vases and candle holders. ( in aqua, violet, scarlet, cobalt, amber, jade ) and am mixing them in with various lanterns. I am also doing the shabby-chic thing.

This way we only have to use some cut flowers to fill some of the vases (about one per table) and they are being used from our yard…to cut down on cost.

good luck!

I’m so happy to have found this thread!! I, too, am doing a jewel-toned wedding with hints of vintage glam mixed in. My main colors are majestic purple, fucshia, emerald green, claret/ruby red and sapphire blue. I am planning to have hurricane vases topped with floral pomanders in alternating jewel toned colors with silver satin ribbon and rhinestones around the bottom of the vases filled with clear gems. Also, I plan to use two runners on each table in alternating jewel tones; as well as DIY beaded/rhinestone and pearl napkin rings. Plenty of diamonds, pearls and jewel colored petals to scatter on the tables as well.

So far I’ve found all the vases, rhinestones, ribbon, pomander foam and flowers at the Dollar Store and the table gems and pearls on Ebay. It’s really keeping costs down!

Post some pix so we can see what you decide!

I’m in the business of banquets and to cut costs I have seen long vases filled with colored aluminum wire and attach purple orchilds to the curly wire with floral wire and fill with water its absolutely amazing. Because its attached to the wire it will stay in place.  She can rent led light stand to illuminate the flowers if its in a ballroom setting. I am going to use this idea for my wedding in September 2013 but not do the led lights since its an outdoor event. Good luck and what a wonderful friend you are!
