(Closed) Jewelers Mutal – What do they cover?

As far as I can tell from my contract, they cover everything except damage from a nuclear event. I would not use it for any repairs hnder $500-1k though in case of raise premiums or a dropped policy. I’d only use it in case of loss, theft, or major repairs/replacement.

If you look on Pricescope they have a lot of threads about this. Apparently JM used to be the best but in the past six months their handling of claims has gone downhill. I am wondering if it’s because Chubb exited the market of independent jewelry policies so now they have no direct competitors. I am concerned but haven’t heard of anyone’s claims NOT getting paid, just them having to fight to get exactly what they want. So I’m waiting to see if the situation improves before considering changing policies, which at any rate to change to one I’d feel comfortable with like USAA or State Farm would require changing our homeowner’s insurance as well.
