I use jewelers mutual. Unfortunately, I haven't lost my ring so I can't speak to how well they handle claims.
But they are suppose to be very good. I got recommended to them by a jewelry store because they used the same insurance company to insure the store (so apparently they trust them)
I was told they cover mysterious disappearance which is awesome, but I've never lost my ring so I can't confirm how true this is.
They are also relatively cheap. my 4k ring was about 50 per year, with a $0 deductable. Hope that helps a bit!
I use Jewelers Mutual as well. It came recommended by our jeweler who like MissShork's jeweler has his store insured by them as well. It is relatively inexpensive, I think mine was $72 per year with a $250 deductible, but you can get the $0 deductible as well. I shopped around a little bit and it seemed to be the best deal with the most extensive coverage.
I also cannot speak to how they handle claims since I have not lost my ring!
Thanks ladies - I saw they were recommended by a lot of websites, but just wanted to check with actual people :) Thank goodness none of you have lost your rings:) Reading through the sample policy on their website makes it seem like they will be good about handling claims, so I'll be signing up with them this week (they were way cheaper than the renter insurance options)!
I have my ring insured thru Jeweler's Mutual and so does my mom. I haven't lost my ring but my mom did lose her center stone of a ring my dad gave her for their 30th anniversary. It was a 4 carat diamond that was of great quality. I have to say they were very good about the whole situation. I think for the situation my mom was in she did not have to jump through thousands of hoops like we expected. They did actually fly a guy from Arizona to Louisiana tho to do there own inspection and investigate the matter. But really the whole process took less than 2 months and my mom has a new ring with a very similar diamond. My dad did have it reset in a very very very secure setting so this could never happen again. They were great in handling my mom who was an absolute basket case.
@laural: Thanks! Just the sort of feedback I was looking for - Glad to hear it worked out so well for your mom!
My ring is insured with them. I chose them based on reviews and because it's what a lot of people on PriceScope said they were using.
I'm also lucky enough to not have had any problems with my ring, but from having JM for 2 years now, they've been great. I really trust our jeweler and they were the ones that recommended Jeweler's Mutual. And it's a pretty reasonable price!
We put our rings on our homeowners insurance. We got a much cheaper rate and lower deductable than our quote from Jewelers Mutual.

Hi- there aren't any reviews in the vendor section, so I was just wondering if any of you ladies have insured your jewelry through Jeweler's Mutual, how they are with handling claims, etc?
I've been putting off getting my ring insured (I know it should be!), but with an upcoming trip to the beach, I think it's time to get serious about insurance shopping...
