I don't know of an appraiser, but this might be helpful: I thought I would need to get my ring appraised to have it insured, but with State Farm you just need the receipt if each individual item is under $5000.
As soon as I got home when I recieved my e-ring I called State farm, they told me I needed an appraisal and that it was covered under my homeowners insurance in case anything happened to it as long as it was under 5000......... and then the stone chipped.
well, now its not covered miraculously and whoever gave me the information was wrong.
I'm not really worried about it because even if it was they would salvage it and the diamond my fiance picked is more sentimental then having it replaced by something else. He offered to buy me another one, but I just am too sentimental anyway and said i wouldnt wear it.
Anyway... i would double and triple check and even get a 3rd party jewelery insurance if possible, they are only 20-50 a year and cover a lot better.

Has anyone used a Jewelry Appraiser in the Raleigh, NC area that they would recommend?
