I have decided that I would like to purchase jewelry for my BMs. I want to purchase pieces that can be worn at the wedding, but also many times afterwards. There are a few decisions I must make first. Necklace, earrings, bracelet... Then, should the jewelry match the color of the dress (stone color), should it be pearls, just metal... So many decisions to make and I just don't know! What have you brides done jewelry wise for your BMs?

I was thinking of buying pearl necklaces for my bridesmaids.  They go with almost anything and will last so long.  I am debating between a single drop pendant pearl necklace or a strand. What color are your dresses?  Mine are burgundy so I really didn't want to get a stone to match that.   Good luck  : )

I think it all depends on the look of the dress and the wedding.  If the dresses are more elaborate, then forgo too much jewelry (keep it simple).  If the dresses are more on the simple side, girl spice them up with some bling.  I probably would not go with something that will blend in, I would go with something that stands out.  Just remember, you do not want your BM's distracting from your look.  You just need them to compliment you.

     Good luck!

I think it definitely depends on your dresses and wedding style. I'm doing something similar, and plan on making something different for each girl as they are so different (and will all be wearing different dresses).

I plan on co-ordinating the stones with the dress, but not too matchy-matchy. Pearls are nice, but as it's also a gift, unless you can get really nice quality, I'd go with either a single pearl on a chain, or something with stones in it.

You could also consider asking your girls whether they'd prefer earrings & a bracelet, or just a necklace... or however you decide to go. You don't always need a full matching set!

The BM's dresses are dark purple, so immediately I thought of anything with amethyst, which comes in many different shades. So if I were to do that, most likely I would go for just earrings since it is difficult to find simple amethyst pendants/necklaces. The pearl idea came up because it's so neutral. The dresses are pretty simple, minus some rushing. I don't want jewelry that stands out too much, but that looks beautiful with the dress, and the rest of the bridal party.

My BM's dresses will be chocolate brown so I wanted to get them jewelry they could wear with the dress on the wedding day and still wear after whenever they wished. I found these great sets at Swarovski crystal. I'm not sure if they are online but I imagine they would be on the website. The set is a necklace and earrings and they come in silver and gold. They are only $100 each. I thought this was a little pricey since I am having 5 BM's so I decided to get only the necklace which is $65.

Great BMs dress.  I chose the same one!  I think amethyst necklaces are a great idea.  Try overstock.com to see if you can find any.  They usually have a great variety, but make sure to read the reviews if there are any to find out about quality and such.

I ended up going with a single drop pearl and earrings for all except my MOH is getting a full strand of pearls and also a bracelet.  Etsy has so many people that sell jewlery at a reasonable price.  I'd recommend looking there.
