@arubabride2014:  I’m really not a fan of necklaces with wedding dresses, they never seem to look nice/classy/whatever enough with an amazing dress!  Could you weird the studs in a second piercing on your ear?  This is what I did because my aunt wanted me to wear the diamond studs she had gotten me:

Otherwise tell your “finance” sorry but you had something else in mind!

My wedding jewelary is a combination of diamonds, saphires, crystals and pearls. My dress has pearl like seed beads and the head piece I picked out has pearls on it. My wedding band is an heirloom diamond and saphire eternity band. So I built my accessories originally around that and the pearls just ended up happening. I think it will be fine as long as you compare your jewelry together before the big day. My earrings will be slightly long saphire and diamonds. And my necklace is a single drop of saphire surrounded by diamonds on a white gold chain. My bracelet is also saphires. But I’m thinking of adding either a crystal bracelet or a pearl bracelet to go along with the saphires. Just wish the pearl bracelet had silver accents so it would match better. :3 good luck!

I did a single pearl necklace that was a great grandmothers. Then i wore my other great grandmother’s pearl earings. I had a string of pearls, but I thought it was a bit overkill with the dress.

FWIW, I think it’s sweet that your FI wants you to wear the earings and while I understand they are what you originally envisioned, I personally would wear them. Not to make him happy per se, but because it’s such a sweet gesture and life with our FIs / DHs keeps us on our toes.
