I did the 30 day shred for 20 days losing 6lbs, and ripped in 30 for like 5 days losing 2lb.

They are amazing DVDs, and you do lose weight/change shape rapidly. My issue is they are boring and repetitive, and hence i never complete ‘the course’.

OH, and i live in a flat and a lot of the exercises involving jumping, so i ended up doing them on a pile of towels, and it was still too noisy really…

@Katie918:  I haven’t but I did do P90X twice (3 months per round, 2 rounds) and lost 25 pounds after having my first.  I was ripped and fit and never looked better.  Now that I’m 2 months PP it’t time to start up again!

@Rachael1287:  that’s good to hear! I just bought the 30 day shred (it was like $6 on amazon, couldn’t pass it up!) and it seemed to have really good reviews. I live in an apartment too, but I’m on the basement level so hopefully that will help with the jumping lol.

I did 30 Day Shred maybe a year and a half ago, and I looked FABULOUS by the end. I didn’t lose much weight, but I toned up. Physically you could see a huge difference, and I looked darn good.

Weight loss is marked much moreso by diet. So if you have a really clean diet while doing 30DS (or Ripped in 30, which I like better), then you should definitely lose weight and get muscle tone.

@Katie918:  I started the 30DS, but got bored 3 days in because it’s so repetative.

I’ve since switched to the Nike Training Centre (NTC) app for my phone.  They have a ton of workouts ranging from 15-60 minutes, I can use my own music, they have videos to explain moves you don’t know.  I love it.  Again, not seeing weight loss but inches and muscle tone for sure!

I’m on my second cycle of Body Revolution.  It actually works in regards to toning and slimming down, but only if you follow the diet, too.  I think of the workouts only as adding tone, and the diet as being the weight loss.  I don’t follow the jillian michaels diet to a “t” – no brocolli?  no way. 🙂  But I keep it around 1200 calories/day.

I will say I like the idea of these 25-40 minute workouts that you can squeeze into your day, instead of taking on a 60 or 90 minute block.

@Katie918:  I really love that I can switch it up and use my own music.  I can’t stand doing the exact same workout every day.  They also have 15 minute targeted workouts.

@Katie918:  I did her 90 day Body Revolution series before my wedding.  I loved it.    I am 5’5″ and went from 127 lbs to 117lbs the first go around and got pretty toned, especially my arms.  I didn’t follow her diet plan, but I tend to eat fairly healthy anyways.

I also did her 30 Day Shred prior to Body Revolution, which I think helped prepare me for the intense workouts in Body Revolution.

Hope this helped!

@Katie918:  I always mute her videos and blare my own music.  After you do the workouts a few time you’ve basically memorized it anyway. 🙂
