I have all 3 of Jillian's DVDs. I love the Shred and think that No More Trouble Zones is like the Shred but longer and a bit harder. There is more mat work and it gets to be tough at the end - the planks in the last 3 circuits and the worst!
Since started Jillian's DVDs I've gone down 2 pant sizes! About a week and a half ago I read Eat to Live after you blogged about it and have lost 8 lbs since starting the plan. If I keep up with Jillian and eating to live I will be in the best shape of my life for my wedding!
BFBM is a killer! I'm glad I'm not the only one that struggles with that one. I posted about this before, but my quads, hamstrings, and butt were KILLING me for a full 3 days after I did that workout. I will say it gets easier. The other thing that helps is doing the modifications she describes. The first time I did it, I was definitely not getting enough oxygen to the head and missed all of those!
I just got all three in the mail! Haven't opened them yet but DEFINITELY need to. Thanks for the reviews :)
i'm at level 2 of shred and would definitely think about her other DVDs too. keep us updated!
i actually tried the shred dvd on youtube just to see if i would like it and have decided i don't need to buy another workout dvd - i can just get them off there for free! :) i'm loving the shred. i fell off the wagon but i am starting up again friday and have vowed to do it for the FULL 30 DAYS!
Ha I'm really glad you posted this, dorsay! I picked up BFBM a little while ago and I could not make it through the whole thing either! Gosh it's so exhausting :(
A lot of Jillian's workouts are available on Comcast OnDemand. I actually own the Shred but levels one and two are there and so is the BFBM - two versions, a longer and shorter one....though I'm afraid to try the BFBM ones!
Bridebella - I use the Jillian's OnDemand workouts too! I "Shredded" today, and then I saw the BFBM workout on the screen and remember Miss D'Orsay talking about it. I went to try it but quit after 5 minutes (I thought it would only be 20 mins. long, like the shredding videos, and I would be able to do both). Now that I know it's up there, I'm excited to try BFBM next time!
@ jampietro-- is the "Eat to Live" the book by Joel Furman? Sounds really interesting but wanted to make sure I was looking at the right thing...
dorsay - I made it about a half hour through BFBM. IT'S SO HARD!!!!! way to go!
Good to know these are on 'OnDemand' - I'll definitely have to give it a try!
k, I'm really happy to know I'm not the only one who has a tough time making it through BFMB!! I can never do the standing mountain climbers when she does them in a later circuit. I start, but then think - this is the time for some water! I go through 2 pint glasses of water each time, I am DRIPPING with sweat. Like the Shred it does seem to get easier the more often you do it but it still hasn't gotten "easy" by any means.
I'd always try to tell myself I'd double shred (do it twice through), but by the time I finish one 20 min workout I really feel more like "ok, I'm done now". With BFBM though, I don't have the chance to think I'm done!
@jampietro That's awesome! Way to go :)
Don't know about her new stuff, but I caved and bought the 30 day shred! I can't wait for it to come in!
I've got No More Trouble Zones. I watched it through before I tried it and thought, eh, that doesn't look too bad. Then the next day I actually tried it ...
Well, I got through 4 of the 7 circuits (cheating on the some of the ab exercises, at that) before collapsing into a gibbering heap. I can get through the whole thing now, more or less, but it hasn't gotten much easier. As someone else mentioned, that plank circuit is the worst! Anyway, the woman is definitely committed to kicking your butt.
Wow. I didn't even realize there was a BFBM or NMTZ. Awesome! I think it's time for a good butt kicking by Jillian.
That's it... all I hear about is Jillian Michaels, I need this stuff. I consider myself to be pretty active so I am caving and ready to see if this will truly be a challenge for me. Thanks, ladies!

Has anyone tried them? I finally received them in the mail the other day and I'm on my 3rd day in a row of Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. I'm kinda ashamed to say I didn't make it the whole way through the first time i did BFBM. Then I did it the whole way through and found out I quit with only 1 circuit to go! le sigh.
Has anyone else tried them? I'm loving BFBM more than the shred (even though I actually curse at her while I'm working out...). I only have 5 pound weights at home and 45 minutes of 5 pound weight circuits is a bit on the rough side so I haven't tried the No More Trouble Zones yet - has anyone else?
