Hi!

So I had a job interview for an administrative assistant position on Tuesday. I am for sure qualified, and I think the interview went REALLY well.

The office manager said she would give me a call on Friday, and that whoever got the position would need to start on MONDAY!

Here is my quesiton, how late in the day today should I wait to call if I don't hear anything? (She said they would notify me regardless.)

Background: The office is open until 7pm, and the other contact I've had with the manager has been after 2:30pm (2 phone calls and the interview.).

I just really really want this job! I don't want to bug them but I need it badly and I just hate sitting at home waiting!

Should I call? Or no? Ahhh!

I say call now!  If there's a reason they haven't called you (e.g. change in start date or god forbid they hired sometone else) then they may tell you over the phone and you won't have to wait anymore. If they were waiting to call you later, then maybe they will tell you just because you called!  Or if they don't know yet then they can call you back later and you were being proactive.  Good luck!

I called! And the manager was in a meeting. Then I called back at 5, like the receptionist told me to, and she was in a different meeting.

But he said that she had definitely made a decision (he didn't know what it was) and that she would try and call me tonight, and if she couldn't tonight, she would definitely call me tomorrow! Which gives me some hope since the office isn't open on Saturday. So still crossing my fingers!

I called, and unfortunately I didn't get it. But! The manager was emphatic about the fact that I shouldn't get discouraged. She said with my skills and education she was confident she could find me something. They have several people moving around and a few leaving in the next couple weeks, so she said she was going to try and find me a position! So, although sorta disappointing (no one likes to be rejected!), still a silver lining!
