HI ladies, i wanted to update on what is going on with my job situation. I had the interview last monday and they told me that they will get back to me within 3 days to a week. I thought the interview went really well. I have no heard from them at all since last monday at the interview. I called on tuesday to follow up and the lady was not in so i left a message. I dont know if i should call back or not, i dont want to annoy them. Im getting really frustrated, this is the 6th interview i have had this year and i am qualified for it but it never happens. I just dont know what i am doing wrong.

You’re not doing anything wrong. There are just a lot more applicants for each job right now, so it’s law of averages. There’s probably a lot of qualified people for each job, and in the end a lot of it comes down one or two small criteria that one candidate might have over another, and that decides who gets the job.
I would give a call back tomorrow if you don’t hear anything. I don’t think you’re being annoying. Annoying is calling five times a day. They do owe you an explanation, and I think you’re showing your interest in the job by following up.

No, you’re not doing anything wrong, sweetie. Times are rough and there are too many people ut in the job pool right now. I agree calling once a day is not that annoying. I used to work for a IT consulting company and the 3-5x’s a day are the annoying ones. I think calling every couple of days to follow up is fine. 🙂 Keep your head up and stay positive.

Eek…this is something I hate. There’s no excuse for them not getting back to you. They told you they’d get back to you, you followed up, they still haven’t gotten back to you…arg. I know they are busy and their time is valuable, but so is yours!

I agree you’re not going to be annoying if you follow up! I’m in the same boat as you are, and Miss Hot Sauce is right: chin up and whatever you do, stay positive!
As a side note: one of my bosses suggested affirmations. For example, “I will work in a positive environment with like-minded, creative people”, or whatever works best for you. I’m finding that they do help
