My fiancé has 2 godchildren – one of which will be our ring bearer and one of which will be a flower girl.

He(we) also have a (step) niece and nephew, who will be 4 and 6 at the wedding. Our niece will also be a flower girl – but I’m stuck on a good job for our nephew.

FH’s step-mother (grandma to the kiddies), has asked us no less than 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times if the kids are going to get to be in the wedding, and has been told no less than 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times that we would LOVE to have them in the wedding! The only problem is finding a suitable job for the nephew, as the ring bearer doesn’t want to share his duties LOL

So far all I can think of is for him to be charged with handing out the programs, or walking the grandmothers down the aisle – I know there have to be more (better?) ideas than this!

Oh, and p.s. they come from a very “southern” family, so any southern traditions that might not usually take place in other areas of the country are more than welcome too – they would appreciate the nod to custom! Thanks ladies!!

A tissue boy.  Had one at my wedding to the X for the same reason - too many little kids, not enough jobs.

We decorated a tissue box (like the decorated card boxes) and he stood at the entrance to the church.  People thought it was adorable and he felt important.

Since we don't really have any young girls to be flower girls in our wedding we decided to veto that tradition.  Instead we are having 2 "ring bearers."  However they aren't going to be carrying the rings or anything.  Their job is to roll out the aisle runner before I walk down (or as my fiance likes to call it "the red carpet").  One will be 8 by the time of the wedding and the other will be 7.  I thought it was a cute idea that my fiance came up with!
