Do you want it to be completely John Deere or are you just aiming for the colors?
@julieandmattjones: Interesting... is there a reason you want a John Deere wedding? I'm not sure your guests will understand the theme, because neither do I! I think a yellow/green color scheme is fine if you tone down the colors a bit, but just wondering why you chose this?
The ideas I've come up with are...
Thats all I got right now lol
I know these aren't the exact colours your talking about but it's definately doable in an elegant way. It's all about execution!
What a fun theme! The deer in John Deere logo can be a decor element, and you can use yellow and green stripes. A serif font would fit, maybe with a script font as well. Please see my post regarding our theme for inspiration regarding fonts :)
Yay! I love it! Im marrying a farmer too and our farmer friends will do a pitch fork salute for us to walk under as we leave the church. you could tie green and yellow ribbons arround them. somewhat like this....

You could have some really cute grass centerpieces, only with yellow flowers!

I just have to share this because it's so darn sweet.

Also, i LOVE the tractor on top of the wedding cake. SO CUTE.
My FI works for John Deere and we both love the outdoors. He and his family have been into farming for years and years.
I'm loving all the ideas!!!!!!! Keep them coming
For the ceremony I am wanting things to be very elegent with the green, yellow, white colors.
For the reception we want to have fun with it! I'm needing some ideas for centerpieces and the room I am using doesn't really have very pretty walls.
Thank you so much for all your help thus far. It's great to have everyone's thoughts and opinions!
Julie
@julieandmattjones: Oh that makes sense! I should have figured since you are in Quincy that you have some kind of farmer connection! :)
What about centerpieces with fruit instead of just flowers? That way it ties into agriculture. You could use lemons, limes, or green apples!

You could do burlap runners
as a pp suggested use wheatgrass centerpieces with yellow flowers-you just cut sheets of wheatgrass to fit the trays you are using, then insert flowers that are placed in floral tubes filled with water

-favors could be in mini burlap bags
use a motley collection of framed mirrors on the wall- you can borrow or source at flea markets etc
or drape the walls with burlap
burlap banners
Aww,this could be cute! Cowboy boots for the bridal party? Dried wheat for the centerpieces? Hmm... Gingham? I guess it depends on the feel your going for.
Thank you all so much! I love the burlap idea....never thought of that!
@julieandmattjones: I think if you went with similar shades of green and yellow (for variation) it could be really cute. You can incorporate the logo with a small charm on your garter, or by getting champagne flutes with the logo on them like this:
Just have fun with it, don't make it too matchy-matchy, and it could be really awesome! Also, you should probably get a photo taken with an actual tractor. Just sayin'.
...on a hot summer night/ He wrote Billy Bob loves Charlene/ In letters 3 foot high/ And the whole town said that he should have used red/ But it looked good to Charlene/ In John Deere green.
That's all I have. :) There is already great inspiration here that I love and don't see how I could add anything better!
@julieandmattjones: Just listed John Deere Lovers wedding invitations on ebay come check them out here is a pic

@MrsCoachBtoBee: haha That popped into my head too !! LOVE that song! :)
Here are ideas I found online that incorporate other aspects of farming: old seed bags, mini hay bales, bunches of wheat. :) I love the 'John Deere' Green wine bottles - would make awesome vases with the Yellow Roses!

I actually was going to do the same theme with my now ex fiance. Things didnt work out but I have plenty of things in John Deere colors. Let me know if you may be interested in anything. I have tons of tulle, paper laterns, daisy flowers, satin table runners, bulap, planters (used for center pieces) a john deere garter, daisy flower girl basket and pillow set, john deere napkins and matching plates (they are black and white). Oh and burlap coffee sacks that were going to be used for haybale seating. Just send me a message if you are interested. Thanks :)
I am jealous of your theme, We are also farmers and I wanted to do a John Deere theme..but then we decided against it. My son birthday party is JD themed, so I already get to have fun with that LOL....But we are doing a yellow and white themed wedding (so I can still incorporate JD)
Our gettaway "car" will be our planting tractor. To tastefully incorporate colors into the ceremony-You could do yellow and green ties, or maye a yellow tie with the JD sybol on the bottom...so you cant see it under the tux but when they take off their jackets you will see it.
For the centerpieces, if you use ribbion on vases, you could attach a small chrm to the ribbon.
Yellow and green hanging chinese lanterns?
If your having your dance floor outside, you could surrond it with small votives, that have yellow, green and some white candles.
Yellow and green table numbers-Maybe use more of the colors, with the logo here and there so people get the idea.
I'm not sure how "country" you want to go but our friends had JD vests made, and after the ceremony the groomsmen wore JD hats that the bride and groom gave them.

Here are some of the ideas and photos I have found that I love! Thank you all for the great ideas I have incorporated several!!!!!!!!!! <3 my fellow BEES!!!!!!!
Aww, just wanted to say I think that's a really cute theme :) I went to high school in an Ohio farming community, so I grew up seeing TONS of John Deere stuff. Farming culture is really cool, you can do so many cute things with this theme! I love the ideas PP had of using fruit vs. flowers and using burlap accents.
@Josina: I really like all of these ideas. A very classic way to do John Deer green without it being too themey.
And now John Deere Green is stuck in my head :)
Not sure if you're a fan of the song but you could do a play on that with your names? Matt loves Julie. Love all the other ideas you've come up with.
I love that someone is doing this! We are farmers, too, but our theme is more towards Allis Chalmers and all other tractors. A few ideas we came up with were tractor on top of the cake, pictures on tractors, and each of the guys will have cuff links with their favorite tractor logo...I am having trouble finding a few of the more obscure ones. We are also using burlap and might try and find a small pedal tractor to ride into the receptiona s part of the grand march. Maybe just the ring bearer will fit though. We also had little signs of all the tractor logos for people to hold up in our photo booth to signify which one they love.
SO love all the great feedback and ideas You guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should come to Moline, to John Deere Commons and get some inspiration. They have a gift shop that sells anything and everything John Deere too.
