"I Hope You Dance" by LeeAnn Womack is nice, and "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers too. Kinda old school and both are country-ish, if you like that.
I am dancing to "In My Life" by the Beatles with my dad. It would also work for a mother/son I think.
We did a joint mothers dance (me with my mom and DH with his) to "Never Alone" by Lady Antebellum.
"You Raise me Up" by Josh Groban. A little sappy, but the parents and guests will love it.
Something like "What a Wonderful World" would work because it isn't father/daughter or mother/son specific.
@bearlove: OK this is not necessarily my cup of tea, but I had a friend do this and they did a joint dance to "Sunrise, Sunset" from Fiddler on the Roof....
we did joint mom/son, dad/daugther dance - it's a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong
We are doing a joint dance as well to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. My dad and I are starting out, and then my FI and his mom will join us. I think its a good song since it is kind of long so they get more then enough time to dance.

We weren't originally planning to do parent dances, but when my FMIL heard that she was upset. She has made a LOT of requests that I've shot down so since this wasn't one I had a strong opinion on I said we could do it. Since there's a mother-son dance, I knew we'd have to have a father-daughter dance to keep the peace, but since NONE of this was in the original plan we want to consolidate. So I'll dance with my Dad and he will dance with his mother all at once to the same song.
I just have no idea what the heck that song will be. Suggestions, please??
