Dreaming13 :  Thanks so much! and eww used bathing suits- lol

ajillity81 :  Yeah they didnt recommend the fetal echo bc of the ivf- I would imagine that youre right and its not that big of an impact- but it does make you wonder if the nt was increased if its bc of a heart defect if it could have something to do with the ivf…Also- congrats on your first OB apt- very exciting! And I think the free DNA test is what I just had done- though by a different name- they pull the babies dna out of your blood! They can tell what belongs to the baby and what belongs to you- so cool. Also how we found out the sex so early! And it mostly screens for chromosomal abnormalities like DS and trisomy 13 etc- not necessarily something that is inheriteed, just something that can happen when the DNA comes together and splits.

weightwatchers152 :  I’m feeling great, thanks! I still forget I’m pregnant most of the time- but I’m starting to feel some little kicks and my belly is starting to show so its less frequent now lol. And damn girl- you are so organized!! Thats precisely the reason I’m terrified of GD. I have no where near that level of responsible organization to plan meals and shop appropriately lol!!

bellarose606 :  Yea, I wouldn’t buy a used bathing suit ewwwww. I did take a cousin’s nursing bra that doesn’t fit her (she washed it right before giving it to me) and that’s probably the “sharing line” lol

I’m having a lot of anxiety last night/today that something is wrong with Squirt and the pregnancy is over. I had a lot of trouble falling asleep last night because of worrying. I think a lot has to do with the fact that it’s become obvious in the past week that I’m pregnant so more people know and I’m talking about it more often. I considered calling my OB office, telling them how I’m feeling and asking if I can run in for a quick doppler but I worried what DH would think. Can’t believe anatomy scan is a week from today.

In other news, I received a stack of bills from my old RE office that I stopped seeing A YEAR AGO (last May was my final IUI and we switched offices before starting IVF). I get to call them tomorrow and sort out 9 months of appointments and figure out what I owe them and why because we paid copays at every appointment and everything was covered. Grrrrrrrr

weightwatchers152 :  glad to see your update.  hadn’t seen you post in a while.

glad you are getting the hang of GD.  congrats on passing the tests.

when i had BH, well i had them for a few weeks and didn’t know that’s what they were.  someone described them to me and i didn’t think it was it.  so i just let it pass.

at my 6 week PP check up with DS, my ob wanted to put me on BCP.  i declined.  she asked if i was ok being back here in 9 months.  i said i would love to be back here in 9 months, that would save us so much money with fertility treatment.  she laughed.

So all those statements that arrived yesterday from the old RE- They owe US $141! I asked them to mail me a check ASAP. I can’t believe it took them this long to get their billing straight.

Dreaming13 :  oh the anxiety has to suck- but everything is fine- its very scary being preganant, so much to worry about. But I suppose its good practice for worrying about your LO for the rest of your life! You can get a doppler for home use if it would make you feel better- I know a lot of people do. Also wth about the money for the IVF place?? I wouldnt pay a dime until you sort it out- also check with your insurance and not just the office since they are looking to get money from you I would always worry they werent being honest- esp. if you already paid copays every time??

Edit- Just saw your update. they owe YOU money?? LOL insane!

bellarose606 :  I paid copays every time (IUI was covered) and it turns out that they owe ME money lol

I feel better today that everything is going smoothly. I really don’t want to get a doppler because I think it would just feed my anxiety (or become an obsession lol). I might look for a friend who has one to borrow. The anxiety just came on very suddenly when I’ve been sooooo calm and relaxed about everything (surprisingly!)

How are you doing?

Dreaming13 :  aww I agree that’s a good point about the Doppler. I’m doing really well! Just feel like I’m waiting to feel pregnant more and dreading having to get my butt in gear as far as registries and setting up the nursery lol

dachshundpup15 :  Sorry you were feeling so terrible, but I’m glad you got to see baby’s heartbeat as a result. Are you doing any better? Good luck with your next mini milestone on Wednesday 🙂

weightwatchers152 :  Way to go dealing with your GD like a champ! That’s such a great idea to have a bunch of healthy snacks on hand ahead of time. For BH, I just lay down if I can and relax, or I drink a bunch of water. I haven’t had a ton of them lately- have you been having lots?

hollyberry4 :  Aww I’m sorry, you don’t need to be embarassed. If it makes you feel any better, I’m only 2 inches taller and have gained close to 35 lbs already (28 & 4). Have you been doing any excercising? The only thing I’ve done is gone walking and I’ve found it helps me gain weight at a more sustainable rate. Good luck!

happy2bee :  So glad you’re back home again my dear. Did they give you any tips for dealing with/minimizing the BHs? Have so so much fun at your first baby shower- I can’t wait to see pictures!

Dreaming13 :  I’m sorry you’re feeling so anxious. I was the same way and it was consuming me at the beginning. I ended up getting a doppler even though I knew DH wasn’t 100% on board with the idea because my stress levels were super unhealthy. Once we got it and started using it, DH LOVED having it and looked forward to hearing Jelly Bean. Do whatever makes YOU feel better, whether it’s a doppler or something else. Good luck- I’m sure Squirt is perfect and snuggly and happy and healthy <3

ajillity81 :  haha that’s awesome. I’ve seen a lot of doctors prescribe BCPs PP- do you know why that is? I’d like to avoid them if possible.

bellarose606 :  Tell me about it, I just started the third trimester and we have nothing ready nursery-wise and our registry isn’t done yet either. To be fair, we are moving into a new house next month so not a ton we can do in the meantime. How far along are you again?

MrsMellyBean :  they prescribe bcp so you don’t get pregnant.  if i recall correctly, i believe the recommended wait between pregnancies is 18m.  we did our FET when DS was 12m.  my RE had no issues with the time frame.

your OB can’t force you to take bcp or anything, just say no.

ajillity81 :  Wow, I didn’t realize they wanted you to wait that long between pregnancies. I always thought we’d NTNP at 12M and then actively TTC at 15M if we weren’t successful since it took a lot longer than we’d hoped to get this sticky BFP. I thought it might have something to do with getting your hormones back to somewhat normal since they’re so out of whack with pregnancy (since it’s always the BCP that they prescribe instead of another method of BC). Regardless, I won’t be taking it- we can prevent with other methods.

ajillity81 :  don’t worry my mom was AMA when she had me this was after having a previous problem pregnancy and I was just fine.

MrsMellyBean :  thanks hun, next ultrasound will be around 36 weeks if I make it to that point.  They need to see if baby boy can flip himself head down so a c-section isn’t necessary.

dachshundpup15 :  awww so exciting to see little one and I agree seeing the heartbeat is SO cool the first time, I cried.

weightwatchers152 :  I’m glad your levels are good, and I wouldn’t worry too much about the blood pressure as BP is normally lowest around this time.  I have chronic high blood pressure but mine has been 110/70 for weeks and weeks which is actually really low for me!

hollyberry4 :  I hate it when doctors comment about weight gain in pregnancy.  I haven’t been able to work out or really control too many of my meals in this pregnancy due to bedrest and such and luckily they haven’t commented on it.  On the other hand my neighbor who is due 5 days behind me is still running in pregnancy darn her anyway lol

Dreaming13 :  Ugg I hate INSURANCE.

MrsMellyBean :  no tips for dealing with BH other than drink more water and don’t overdo which is funny because when I was in triage they pumped me full of 2 liters of fluid and that did NOTHING to stop them.  They did say that they might put me on procardia to stop contractions for a few weeks but because they’ve slowed down they haven’t done that yet.  Doctor also said I just might be one of those women who is a “frequent flyer” in triage, that comes in because her body won’t behave and that’s ok.

hollyberry4 :  I’m even shorter than you (4’11”) and also starting out overweight, so this should be fun, ugh.  Curious where you’ve found short maternity jeans/pants?

MrsMellyBean :  yeah I’m super worried about making decisions on big things like strollers and car seats lol. But I’ll be 17 weeks on monday!

Update- Does anyone have experience with placenta previa? Just found out they saw it at the 16 week sono. Dr said it usually resolves itself later in the pregnancy and to keep an eye on it at the 20 week sono and see if its gone. BUT in the meantime she said I need to do pelvic rest? Guys- If I cant have sex from 16 weeks through the end of my pregnancy (if it doesnt resolve) that will be crazy! lol. Part of me thinks we have been having sex this whole time and I’ve obviously had it without knowing. I havent had any bleeding thoughout the pregnancy so far, and maybe if we just keep it gentle and dont do anything crazy it might still be ok once in a while? But obviously I dont want to do anything to hurt the baby. Has anyone had any experience with this? I asked the dr what would happen if I overdid it in any way and she said just light spotting might happen but didnt seem concerned. Is there anything else that could happen that would be dangerous? Am I being dumb? lol

hi all, i’m new here! i was previously on the March POAS board but… i had my m/c in end April. our first appointment at 8 weeks went great: the scan showed all was good, we told DH’s family, DH cried tears of happiness… at that point i was based overseas for work and planned to tell my family in person when we relocated back to my home country in May.

then just a few days before we were scheduled to relocate, i started spotting. thinking it was no big deal, i went in to see the gynae anyway. and she said in her poor english “i’m sorry, there is no heartbeat, please go for an abortion now.” i wanted to have the d&c back in my home country but the m/c happened naturally shortly after that.

so now here i am looking for support. i never thought it would turn out this way. bleeding finally ended last week, and i had EWCM so we started TTC… but i read somewhere that EWCM isn’t a good indicator for the first cycle after m/c??? i only just started temping, so no clue what to do now. people keep telling me things like “oh you’ll be more fertile after a m/c, just start trying straightaway”, but i feel like i’ll be even more heartbroken if i get my hopes up and it didn’t happen this cycle.
