Nothing new here really.  I was 18 weeks yesterday.  I visited my sister this weekend and she said you can tell I’m pregnant.  I think I’ve gained 4 or 5 pounds.  I haven’t really be tracking it at home, I guess I’ll find out at my appt next week.  I have anatomy scan scheduled for Aug 29.  I’ve been buying a lot of clothes lately.  Little girl clothes are just so darn cute.  The nursery reno is supposed to start this upcoming weekend.

How is everyone else doing?

weightwatchers152 :  I’m also dying to know if baby is here!

soontobemrs1011 :   hollyberry4 :  I thought I posted and I guess I didn’t! I’m 31 weeks tomorrow and still feeling good. I refuse to complain about anything surrounding pregnancy. I bought bedding and stuff over the weekend along with a few outfits to start. I found a used glider and picked it up today. We close on our house in a week and I’ve been packing a little bit every day. I feel like there is a ton left to do. I finalized that my last day of work is 9/30 so i’ll have almost 2 weeks (12 days) before my due date.

soontobemrs1011 :  Looking forward to seeing photos of your nursery! I feel like you are sooooo far ahead of me with getting ready 🙂

Had my 36 week appointment yesterday and they did the first cervical check. Only .5 cm dilated but she said the baby’s head is really low. Ever since that appointment I have been cramping like crazy! Ouch! I wasn’t prepared for that side effect of the cervix check! I had a moment of “oh my God, this baby could come any day now!” and made myself a big checklist of everything else that needs to be done before she comes! Earlier this week I made 16 freezer meals and several freezable snacks. It was pure torture but I’m glad I did it (and glad it’s DONE!).

soontobemrs1011 :  omg no fair. I’ve gained 13 pounds! It was the same with my son though – I gained a lot up front and then it leveled out so I’m trying not to worry. LOL. When is your anatomy scan?

hollyberry4 :  so great to get those meals in the freezer – you are going to be so glad you did that!!

Dreaming13 :  Almost closing day!  You must be so excited to get the move over with and try to get settled in before baby arrives!  Do you have plans for the nursery?  Also, did you ever get a bill for the Harmony testing?  I did mine 5 weeks ago and haven’t even seen it billed to my insurance.

hollyberry4 :  Great idea on the freezer meals.  It won’t be long now and she’ll be here!  I hope the cramping goes away.

YogaMama :  Dr told me to gain 15-20lbs total, I’m hoping I can stick to that.  I’m short (4’11”..barely) and was overweight to begin with.  Packed on some lbs after our wedding and through fertility treatments…ugh.  My anatomy scan is the 29th, when I’m 21+2.  I wasn’t pushing for early since we already knew it was a girl, and I needed a day they could give me the latest appt.  Yours is next week, right?

soontobemrs1011 :  I know people that have been able to do that! I gained 34 last time so I’m hoping to stick around there. Yes good memory! Mine is next Tuesday – can’t wait to see babe again! Are you feeling movement? I’m getting kicked pretty good over here!

YogaMama :  I can’t wait to find out if you’re having a girl or boy!  Are you wanting a girl this time since you have a son?  I have not felt anything yet, I want to sooo bad…hopefully it’ll happen soon.  I do have an anterior placenta and they said it can act like a cushion and may take longer.

soontobemrs1011 :  Really funny that you ask about that because I followed up with them today- my insurance company apparently never responded to the appeal (they will deny it- it’s a non covered service)! I spoke to them today and I have to let the appeals process take it’s course so that I only owe $200. I did the test back in April! I’m doing a book theme for the nursery and using mint green/gray/white.

hollyberry4 :  What did you make? I want to stock my freezer once this move is over and the kitchen is done (getting new counters). Would love any and all recipes.

I spoke to HR yesterday at my job and I will qualify for FMLA and short term disability which will be a little unexpected cash. Back to packing!

Hey guys just popping in to see whats up. 28w 4d here and still feeling pretty small! It’s so funny bc you think of how everyone complains that people say “oh youre so big” but I find myself getting jelous of all my fb friends who are also pregnant who are so much bigger than me lol. I also agreed to be a materinty model for a friend for a photo shoot on tuesday, and I had to email her pics and tell her I might not look that pregnant lol she said she will round out my belly in photoshop if she needs to. Baby girl is kicking the crap out of me all day and night which is reassuring but starting to hurt lol. Its super exciting seeing it from the outside. almost done painting the nursery and expecting furniture delivery in 2 weeks or so- will post pictures when we’re done!!

YogaMama :   So good to hear you gained up front and then leveled out.  Hope that happens to me. So far I’ve already gained 22lbs!!  Though to be honest I have no idea where it went, my stomach doesnt look too much bigger though my thighs seem to be rubbing together so I must have gained some weight in my legs. I started getting worried bc I feel like I should do 30-35 max but if I’m going to gain another pound or two a week well….

Hi Ladies,

Sorry for not updating, it’s been busy!

My son was born 7/31 via C Section. We arrived at the hospital over 3 hours early. They hooked me up to a monitor and said baby’s heart rate was dipping. I was so so scared. Soon after, a more experienced nurse said “No, he’s fine, just moving a lot!” (So affecting reading). She gave me a print out that said “uterus not contracting” to reassure me.

My parents came into the city early (they were so excited and my Mom wanted to be in the waiting room as close to the OR and as early as possible) so I was able to see both them and my MIL before. I was scheduled for 9:30 but an emergency was first.

Finally my turn came. The staff was phenomenal. Afterwards my nurse hugged me, DH, and grandparents in recovery! 🙂

It took the anaestheologist (sorry, spelling) 6 needles to finally do the spinal/epidural. I have 2 herniated disks but did not mention. I was so afraid I’d get put under if I complained of pain. I also drank the drink which wasn’t too bad.

Gianluca was born at 11:41am, 8lbs. 7 oz. and 20 inches long. He was born with TTN so we were scared. They said fluid in the lungs can be more common with C Section because baby does not know they are being born so they can’t push fluid out as easily. He stayed in infant stabilization for about an hour on a CPAP.

Once he was born, my 12cm+ peritoneal inclusion cyst was (finally!) drained. Ovaries and tubes in tact, one tube scarred but ok. We may need IVF again because I could still have long cycles and be anovulatory due to my high prolactin.

Thanks for reading! I will post a picture of our healthy little man once I figure out how to resize an uploaded image from my phone (and not post crooked). Any tips are appreciated, thank you.

Have a great day, ladies! 🙂

weightwatchers152 :  oh my goodness! He is just perfect!!!! Thank you for coming back to update us on your story. I’m so glad that your journey has had such a happy, amazing ending. You deserve it, mama! Enjoy your little one!

bellarose606 :  I can totally relate to you! I have stayed small this whole pregnancy and have been wishing I was bigger often! People didn’t think I was pregnant for a long time and then when I did look pregnant people didn’t believe how far along I was. At 28 weeks I was on a flight and it came up in convo with the lady next to me I was pregnant and she was like “really??” I told her how far along I was and she said “I never would have guessed you were pregnant!” Haha! It makes me feel like “Do I always just look this fat then?” My fundal height has been measuring behind every appointment to the point that they sent me for a growth scan at 34 weeks and baby girl was measuring right on her due date, so all is good. It’s weird though since I’m short so I thought I would be huge, but my OB said I’m ‘hiding it well’ whatever had means. Since hitting 36 weeks I finally feel like I look bigger, but I’m still measuring pretty far behind. Here’s a pic of me a few days shy of 36 weeks finally with a bump!:

soontobemrs1011 :  I was told to gain 15-20 pounds too but I just hit 20 pounds at 36 weeks. Oh well! Another OB in the practice told me she thought it was more realistic to gain 25 and that she was not worried at all. I am also short and started out overweight with 10 lbs packed on through my two IVF rounds (hoping to take that off too!!). Honestly though, I feel like we went through all of this crap to just get pregnant, can I just enjoy this without stressing out about each pound??? My friend gave birth last week and gained 25 pounds (she was told to aim for 15-20 pounds too). One week pp she had lost 20 pounds. Don’t stress, bee!

Dreaming13 :  I did these! I chose it because it was easiest— this woman literally wrote out your shopping list and all the recipes for 15 meals (plus a bonus snack). It was painful but worth it! Some of them are easy (dumping ingredients in a bag for slow cooker) and some you actually have to cook. I like that some of the meals are handheld which are easy to eat while breastfeeding, and she includes breakfast things (breakfast burritos) and also lactation smoothies. I also made and froze some cookies and other snacks (muffins which won’t make it to PP seeing as I’ve already eaten half, granola bars, etc that have oats to help with milk production). I hope you find it helpful!  Good luck! Link: http://diaryofafitmommy.com/15-freezer-meals-before-your-baby-arrives/

weightwatchers152 :  OMG he’s adorable! Enjoy!!!!!

bellarose606 :   hollyberry4 :  I’m 31 weeks so in between you guys and while I’ve gained 20ish pounds so far, I gained almost all of it in the second trimester. I felt like I gained it really quickly. I don’t feel huge either but there is definitely a baby in there. Someone guessed that I was 5 months this week and I laughed. I stressed about my weight for a few weeks. My suggestion (and what I’ve heard) is that your body is going to gain or it’s not and there isn’t a lot you can do about it. I was also 10 lbs heavier after 2 IVF cycles. It is what it is, you are growing a human 🙂

hollyberry4 :  Thanks for the link!! I’ll check it out
