At first I thought you were referring to steriod use. And was like...WTF?! But anyway, I do have a juicing machine. I love it. I personally like to juice carrots. I've never realized how delish it can be...and so fresh.
hahaha no definitely not steroids. Carrots are the only thing I have juiced so far... it is really tasty if you mix it with oranges too.
I think I'm going to be be brave and juice green leafy vegetables, they say they are super healthy for you. Although I'm sure it tastes like crap! haha
The thought of juiced leafy greens makes me want to gag! I can't even stand V8 juice!
I love wheatgrass shots, so I bet I would like juiced leafy greens. You could probably make something like superfood juice, and add some fruits to make it sweeter and yummy.
haha i thought you meant steroids, too! I was just about to flex my guns until i realized you were talking about fruit juice. ;)
haha, so funny. It didn't even occur to me (until now) that my title could be misinterpreted!
@MissAsB- I'm with you, the thught of it makes me want to gag...but apparently it is super great for detox, which then aids in weight loss.
@MissBiner- I hear grapes make the juice taste sweeter.
I think I will go to the grocery store tonight and experiment... i will let you ladies know if I come up with anything delicious!
I love juicing! Try this book: http://www.amazon.com/Big-Book-Juices-Smoothies/dp/184483266X/ref=pd_cp_b_1
Haha I also clicked on this thread a bit bewildered, expecting it to be about steroids! I love my high-powered juicer (a Vitamix) and it can process things like carrot tops, etc...it's AWESOME because you get to retain so many nutrients and experience flavors you couldn't before. I can't really be any help for recipes, though, I'm in the "throw it in till it tastes good" camp... But have fun! My vitamix is like my favorite possession.
@MIssAsB I can't drink V8 either...I need to try one of the juice flavored ones I guess...but I can't drink veggie juice, blaaahz
@jspeby cool book!!! what juicer do you use?
@jspeby, thanks for the link, I just ordered the book. What juicer do you use?
I tried it last night for the first time and did a carrot, cucumber, parsley, lime juice (detox recipe) poured it into a frozen mug... it was tasty!
My mom was on a big juicing kick for a while (making juice out of fruits and veggies, NOT taking steroids!) and she actually made some concoctions that included leafy greens/carrots/other veggies that were pretty tasty. On their own, its pretty gross, but if you include sweet and delicious fruits, you taste the gross part less, but still get the nutritional benefits! I'll see if I can get any of her old recipes, but you should definitely just experiment to find what you like.
My favorite green juice recipe is from Kris Carr from Crazy Sexy Life...
I use:
1 stem of broccoli
1/2 a green apple
1 cucumber
1 small handful of kale
1 handful of sprouts
1 inch of ginger
and
2 stalks of celery.
The more Kale you use the more bitter it will be, so go easy on the kale, and you can always add other greens, collard greens, romaine etc. They are all super good for you!

Are there any bees out there who juice? I keep hearing that it is super healthy for you,a nd I actually received a juicer at my last shower as a gift! I am super excited and really want to get started. If you've done it, where do you get your recipes from?
