    OK, here's my list:

    Venue & Catering - booked
    Officiant - booked

    AND THAT's IT!!!

I figure photographer and dress are the next most important and to perhaps book/find a salon for that day.  I'm feeling very behind...

@babybluz: We are inviting 150, but will probably end up with more like 120. It saves sooooo many headaches to just have one. No complaining over dresses since I'm havin gmy sister pick out whatever she wants, so much cheaper, no drama over who's in or out. It has been really nice to just have my sister, we have both been enjoying the planning and I think it shows her how special and important she is to me that I only want to have her up there with me. How many people are you having?

    Hi Bees!

I felt like I had so much done until I read everything that you girls have gotten done.  So far I have:

my dress ordered and deposit paid

    bridesmaid dresses ordered

colours picked (eggplant, ivory and green)

    venue booked

    menu picked

    photographer picked

    band booked

    wedding party asked and confirmed

    Officiant booked

    Guest list done

    engagement photos taken and received

I think that's all for now!  We are deciding whether or not we want a videographer and we need to find someone to do the cake.  My sister is doing our invitations and other things that require calligraphy (she's an artist).

    I hope it comes fast!

    • Venue - booked and deposit paid
    • Ceremony location - booked
    • Officiant - booked
    • Food/Beverage - selected
    • Photographer - contacted
    • Invitations - might have a friend hook-up, so will wait

Crossing two things off the list--I officially have bridesmaids AND I finally finally bit the bullet and bought a dress!   woohoo!  It feels so good to be done with it, after trying on about fifty dresses.

@babybluz: You're not screwed, the list of things you've done is long!  Sounds like you're on point.

The Unsuspecting Bride    July 2, 2011   London, England

Wow ladies, you're all very well organized! I'm a July 2011 bride as well and so far we have booked the venue where we will have both the ceremony and the reception. And that's it!

We did a preliminary guest list to get a sense of numbers and I've got the colours green and white in my mind. Luckily our venue is great and they'll help handle a lot of things but I should really get cracking with my list.

Hopefully my lack of progress will make you feel a little better about all the work you've already done haha

Ok I can now add DJ and Florist booked to my list. Which means we booked 3 of the venues venders so we will get the chocolate fountain for free.

This is really adding up to more money than I thought it would be. How much are you girls spending so far?

    I'll share!

    Done:

    Venue and catering booked.

    Officiant booked.

    Photographer booked.

I ordered save the date postcards.

I mailed out nice notes asking my bridal party to be my bridal party.

    In progress:

Finalizing the guest list, but it's almost done.

FH has picked his groomsmen, but not asked yet.

I think I've picked a dress, but want to shop at one more store just to make sure.

We've written a lot of the ceremony.

I've written a great playlist for our ipod.

I've planned a couple of modest DIY projects.

    To do:

OMG don't talk to me this stresses me out.

    @MrsFalcon:

I now have almost  everything booked  except the person to marry us which is going to be way harder than i thought :(.

Where in NY are you? I did not talk to venues because I'm in Florida my parents have booked everything. Since your wedding is on a Sunday also it should be better. Mine is on a Sunday because many venues were already booked for every Saturday in June and July. You should start booking stuff now just to get the date set and details later.

Hey ladies! I'm new to the July 2011 boards.

Reading these checklists is making me have a minor panic attack!  So much to do!

    So far I've:

    • Booked the ceremony venue (still up in air about the reception-eek!!)
    • Have the photographer selected (family member)
    • Kinda selected wedding colors (I think aqua and red and maybe orange)
    • Selected Wedding Party (mostly... I don't think FH has contact his best man!)
    • Save the Dates ordered and partially addressed
    • Rough Guestlist - need to finalize once reception area is finalized
    • Wedsite up and running (although it needs more details)

This weekend I'm meeting our potential Officiant and will start working on vows.  Hopefully next month I'll go look at wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses.  I've started my DIY paper flower decoration/possibly bouquet and hope to get the bouquet (mine and BMs) finalized by the end of the year.  I've started buying jars for candy/dessert buffet and thinking of what types of candy we'll have.

I have so much to do I can't even start forming a list without stressing out.  Whew... breathe... breathe...

So, in an effort to save money, instead of STD's, we're going to write a blurb on our Christmas cards (to those invited, especially the out-of-towners|), that we would love if if they would join us next July 23rd, for our wedding.

Amongst my group of friends, i have NEVER received a STD.  The only one i ever received was via email.

Is anyone else thinking of doing something like this?

@kristiranee: no need for panic attacks..i think we've got about the same accomplished so far :)

@babybluz: That's a great idea!  I don't mean to sound like the grinch, but I haven't ever sent out Christmas cards!  I actually was thinking that I would start sending them after I got married.  But if you plan on sending both, then I don't see why not!
