I am going to make an appointment this month to look at wedding gowns in Florida to get an idea of size and style for when i look in NY
wow lisamr! You have a ton done! Yesterday I just went on a shopping spree for a lot of the decor.
Here;s my list:
Hmmm...I feel like ive done alot...let me think:
I feel like im missing SO much, but thats it for now!
OK CLEARLY i was right....i better get a move on...
@Peaches1038 - how many guests are you inviting? I'm hoping to only have one each in our bridal party too - solves a lot of potential problems...
@babybluz: We are inviting 150, but will probably end up with more like 120. It saves sooooo many headaches to just have one. No complaining over dresses since I'm havin gmy sister pick out whatever she wants, so much cheaper, no drama over who's in or out. It has been really nice to just have my sister, we have both been enjoying the planning and I think it shows her how special and important she is to me that I only want to have her up there with me. How many people are you having?
I have:
Venue: Booked
Reception: Booked
PHotographer: BOoked
Engagement photos: Booked (on October 17th!)
Musicians: Booked! (easy, im a musician!:))

Hi Bees!
I felt like I had so much done until I read everything that you girls have gotten done. So far I have:
my dress ordered and deposit paid
bridesmaid dresses ordered
colours picked (eggplant, ivory and green)
venue booked
menu picked
photographer picked
band booked
wedding party asked and confirmed
Officiant booked
Guest list done
engagement photos taken and received
I think that's all for now! We are deciding whether or not we want a videographer and we need to find someone to do the cake. My sister is doing our invitations and other things that require calligraphy (she's an artist).
I hope it comes fast!
Really good to read these & remember what else we need to do! :) Time seems to be going unbelievably quickly! So far we have sorted the following:
Heavens, I thought we had loads done and I read this & there is still loads more to do!! Ah...
OK OK...after looking at some peoples lists i still feel screwed but realized we had done a little bit more then i had thought:
This week i'm hoping to:
Crossing two things off the list--I officially have bridesmaids AND I finally finally bit the bullet and bought a dress! woohoo! It feels so good to be done with it, after trying on about fifty dresses.
@babybluz: You're not screwed, the list of things you've done is long! Sounds like you're on point.
So far I have ...
It makes me feel better to see all I've accomplished instead of just thinking about everything that still needs to be done.
I did a lot fast and have slowed down lately. However, this thread is making me feel like it is time to start up again! So far we have...
This week I want to:
Thanks ladies for making me feel the pressure and getting my booty in gear!
.... and by make appt to meet with the florist and caterer, I meant the florist and BAKER. already have caterer done, opps. : )
Wow ladies, you're all very well organized! I'm a July 2011 bride as well and so far we have booked the venue where we will have both the ceremony and the reception. And that's it!
We did a preliminary guest list to get a sense of numbers and I've got the colours green and white in my mind. Luckily our venue is great and they'll help handle a lot of things but I should really get cracking with my list.
Hopefully my lack of progress will make you feel a little better about all the work you've already done haha
It's crazy to think how fast time is going -- 9 months!
In the process
Need to do soon!
So far we have
Reception Venue: Booked
Caterer: Booked
Photographer: Booked
Bridal Party: Chosen
Guest List: Set
Colors/Theme: Set

This is a good "check up" for me to see how I'm doing.
Venue & Catering - booked
Church - booked
Engagement pics - done (waiting to get back)
Dress - bought
Colors - picked (FINALLY lol) (orange & brown)
Table wines - chosen (yes, my family likes alcohol haha)
BM dresses - mismatched, gave them guidelines
e-ring - insured (bees, remember to do this!)
Things I'm working on:
bridal party - almost finalized
photographer - waiting for rest of the quotes, then I can finally book
guest list - we did this sorta, but I need to get the names of my FI distant relatives and finalize who gets plus ones. Basically, need to final and have it written out properly... lol.
invitations - want to start designing
cake - confirm that uncle is still willing to make a cake for us
Ok I have GOT to stop reading these checklist threads - they give me a panic attack. I'm hoping to finalize the reception venue and caterer this week. That's it. :-/
Ok I can now add DJ and Florist booked to my list. Which means we booked 3 of the venues venders so we will get the chocolate fountain for free.
This is really adding up to more money than I thought it would be. How much are you girls spending so far?
I'll share!
Done:

@Lisamr: Wow! We are also in NY and really just getting started. When you were talking to venues did you get a sense that most people were already booking for 7/11?
*bracing for impact*
In LA, in case anyone needs references :)
So far, I have:
I now have almost everything booked except the person to marry us which is going to be way harder than i thought :(.
Where in NY are you? I did not talk to venues because I'm in Florida my parents have booked everything. Since your wedding is on a Sunday also it should be better. Mine is on a Sunday because many venues were already booked for every Saturday in June and July. You should start booking stuff now just to get the date set and details later.
so is it me or is time flying!!! well I will chime in here as well.....

Still trying to figure out if I'm going to do DIY Flowers. Need to book a caterer and find out about hotels for out of town guest, and lots of other stuff that I really can't think of off the top of my head right now :p It's all in my wedding planning book at home.
So far I've:
Up next is Pre-Cana (November). We are trying to get a lot done before I get busy again with work in the winter (tax season!) I have been slacking recently. I don't think I've done anything new since like early August but most of it I did in April/May. Bad Bride!
I can't believe July is less than 9 months away! So far we have:
Hey ladies! I'm new to the July 2011 boards.
Reading these checklists is making me have a minor panic attack! So much to do!
So far I've:
This weekend I'm meeting our potential Officiant and will start working on vows. Hopefully next month I'll go look at wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. I've started my DIY paper flower decoration/possibly bouquet and hope to get the bouquet (mine and BMs) finalized by the end of the year. I've started buying jars for candy/dessert buffet and thinking of what types of candy we'll have.
So, in an effort to save money, instead of STD's, we're going to write a blurb on our Christmas cards (to those invited, especially the out-of-towners|), that we would love if if they would join us next July 23rd, for our wedding.
Amongst my group of friends, i have NEVER received a STD. The only one i ever received was via email.
Is anyone else thinking of doing something like this?
@kristiranee: no need for panic attacks..i think we've got about the same accomplished so far :)
@babybluz: That's a great idea! I don't mean to sound like the grinch, but I haven't ever sent out Christmas cards! I actually was thinking that I would start sending them after I got married. But if you plan on sending both, then I don't see why not!
