FH doesnt care if it's gonna be hot... :-/ he wants to wear a suit...with a jacket!!! i'm like, the whole thing is outdoors!! ur gonna pass out from the heat before i even make it down the aisle!! ::sigh:: men....
The men will be wearing darker grey tuxes with purple vests and ties. It's not set in stone yet, but that is the look we are aiming for...hot or not! They can always take off the jackets for some of the pics and for the reception, of course.
My guys are wearing black suits with purple ties. :) Simple, yet chic.
That's a good idea, jackets for the ceremony, and a few pictures & off during the reception etc :)
our guys are going for tuxes. even though I'm pretty sure I'm engaged to the sweatiest man alive, who runs 20 degrees hotter than everyone else, there's no changing his mind about the "only thing he gets to decide on" in the wedding! (not true, but I let him be dramatic..choose your battles, right?

Secretly I'd love a dark gray, or any gray......but will try not to let that be a must!
Our first choice was something like the OP posted, but gray isn't going to match well with the hint of color my dress has so we're on the look out for slim-fitting khaki suits. I'm worried we may not find them at a reasonable price (ie: less that what the amazing J Crew suits cost).
Baha, my guy has not even thought about this yet. He told me the store he preferred to get a tux from, but that was like 2 months ago. I'll tell him about the vest idea since we're having an outside wedding. My I think he's more traditional and will go for a tux.

@Jaynee: We are using our local tux shop called Stricly Formals. They carry After Six Riviera sand dress suits. Check your local tux shop and see if they carry that style. Do a google search and see if this is what you are looking for. Let me know how you make out.
We're going with black tuxes. Not sure about ties yet. I think FI will wear a pale pale blue tie, not sure about the GM's. To be honest, i hadn't given it much thought until now :s
We will either go with slim fitting grey suits or slim fitting black tuxes.

I know FI will be wearing a black tux with ivory tie and vest and the BM is probably going to wear a purple tie and vest and the rest of the GM are going to wear teal ties and vest... But that is just the plan. We haven't gone looking yet. Should we have?
Up until now we've just been mulling over what we would like but we're going this weekend for the first time -- I am pretty certain suits take a little less time to order/buy/alter etc since men wear suits every day, and ladies generally only wear wedding dresses once ;)
Tuxes might take a bit longer, but I'm not sure.
have you/your partner seen anything online that has really jumped out?
it wouldn't hurt to call a few places and see what their turn around is like. :)

My FI is wearing a light gray suit from JCrew w/ a light gray vest and his Groomsmen are wearing charcoal suits from Perry Ellis. Their ties are going to be light gray paisly to match my FI, and his tie is going to be ivory paisly to match me. :)
I am stuck with this same issue. He wants to wear a tux and we even went to look at one and select colours etc., but I still think it will be too hot for him to be wearing that in July-August time!
My FI is wearing slim gray slacks with a black shirt black/purple striped tie and purple suspenders, the GM's are wearing same slacks dark purple shirt, black tie and black suspenders, I seriously love my boys outfits, they look so good!
We are doing charcoal grey suits for all of the boys with white shirts and an apple green tie. Luckily my FI already owns his suit, we are in the process of getting measurements from all of his GM's so we can order the suits all at once during one of the sales at MW. I plan on them taking off their jackets after the ceremony/pictures. I secretly loved the idea of vests but didn't think the FI would be on board so I let it go but then he brought it up last week so we'll see. Our ring bearers are wearing charcoal suits from J. Crew with little vests . . . adorable!
A tuxedo... we're getting married outside but the reception is inside... he said he would wear it even though it may be hot out... the things he does for me : )
My groom wants to wear a tux and ivory vest/tie even though I would much rather he wear a light gray suit and tie with no vest. It's his wedding too, though, so he gets his way :)

We were going to go with navy blue vests and bow ties for the guys and ivory vest and bow tie for my man but..
he likes the james bond look of the black bow tie, haha. So I said 'okay' even though I think the ivory looks so dashing.
He looks so handsome either way. :)
We're going classic with black tuxes. They'll be hot for photos, but otherwise, the rest of the events are indoors.
For you southern Ontario brides (we got married in Toronto) worried about heat in July and August, here's what our guys wore for our 100% outdoor wedding. I asked my husband if he regretted wearing a suit and he said, "I was hot, but I did not regret wearing a suit". He also took his jacket off for the reception.
@MrsMcGyro: I love that look. We are thinking of something similar. Light gray with an ivory tie for my man, darker gray with silver/light grey or purple ties for the groomsmen.
yup, he is on the same diet with me, I am not into non slim fit lol.
FYI: Our grromsmen were in town last week and so I dragged them all down to Macy's where they got slim fitting grey suits for half price on sale. The actual sale doesn't start till Thursday, but they let us do it because everyone was from out of town. Anyone considering grey suits should check it out, they paid $250 for $500 suits.
We just decided this weekend and, well, I am unsure of "our" decision. Of course I told my FI that the choice was his.... yet I am doubting his choice *haha* Maybe some of my month twins can help decide if I need to sway him in another direction or just let it be:
Facts - colors are pewter and yellow. BMs are in pewter dresses. I am in a soft ivory dress. FI and I agree that we don't want yellow vests and there are no pewter options at Men's Wearhouse.
Groom - he choose black tux, black vest/tie, white shirt (thought the ivory shirt looks yellow).
Groomsmen, Ushers AND fathers - he choose black tux, pewter vest/tie, white shirt.
My doubts - should there be more variety between the GMs, ushers and fathers? FI really doesn't like the white vest/tie look for himself.. but what about black tux, black vest, white shirt, ivory tie?

So after much deliberation my partner finally picked out a suit this past weekend! Here's the vest and dress shirt (suit jacket and pants to match obvsly)
My guys are wearing the gray Calvin Klein "Legend" tuxes. My Fi will have on the white accesories (with white converse....he's so quirky) while his groomsmen will have on the mermaid color ties with black snakeskin dress shoes
My man is wearing a black striped suit (Billy London @ Kohl's), a green button up shirt, a green tie, a black hat, and black shoes.
The other guys will be wearing gray slacks, gray button up, black shoes, black suspenders, and gray/green ties. This is the only picture I could fin with gray pants and gray button up. Oh, Brad Pitt I love your style!
2-button Calvin Klein tuxes all around. Everyone is wearing a black tie, white? shirt, and silver vest and pocket square with color depending on the role in the wedding
FH has a black bow tie. Ivory Pocket square
GMs have black necktie. Green Pocket Square
Dad, Brother (usher/reader), Officiant, have purple pocket square (officiant is wearing a suit)
Dress blues! And tuxes for the groomsmen-- black with blue bow ties and blue vests.
My fiance and his GM are weating black shirts, pants, and vests with ivory ties or black shirts, and pants with ivory ties and ivory suspenders. Our wedding is in September, but I'm still anticipating some heat.
I think we have settled on khaki trousers, white button-up shirts, navy blue ties/navy blue Converse. No tuxes... way too hot!

We're having an afternoon ceremony/reception outdoors and the mr. is a tad concerned about the heat--he likes the look of a fitted grey or charcoal suit, but is worried it'll be too hot. That's when we came across this:
